Hey all I have a new house with an old telkom line installed. How do I activate it? Please help. Have an afrihost account and need the telkom line.

Very easy. If you have a good credit record you can get free line installation if you choose a package that comes with it.
Packages that comes with free installation is usually Telkom Closer calling plans[no contract], Telkom Simple deals[you get a free router too no contract] or the new Smart Home deals[24 months contract but with tons of free stuff like dstv explorer and modems and simcards]
That would your best options. Closer plans are the cheapest way BUT not the fastest or best way to do it in my view.. The reason I'm saying not the fastest is that you need to wait for Telkom Technician to come and install the voice line. Then once that is done you need to apply for a new adsl line through Afrihost or Telkom and that would take more time.
I recommend the Telkom simple deals. It's a ALL inclusive deal with free installation of the voice and adsl part in one go with a free router and no contract. You just have to keep the adsl part with Telkom for 3 months so that is technically not a contract just a clause they have on the simple deals.
