Well it's been quite a lot of coding & stuff happening behind the scenes, but it's now finally done. Almost anyway - there are many features still to be added, but I wanted to get the new ISP and Host sections up and running ASAP.

If there are any problems could you *please* drop a mail to [email protected] telling me about it? Would be much appreciated :)

It would be great hearing from everyone as to what you think of the new site - the content is still all there and I will have to go through the pages one by one to see what still needs to be added or modified to suit the new look.. until then though, click around a bit on the new Hellkom :)

Uhm. MaD. What's up with the damn refresh every 10 seconds or so?

EDIT: Never mind. Appears my browser went insane there for a bit... It's stopped doing it now...
 
Since yesterday my browsers (Firefox 1.5 and IE6) is also doing a refresh every 10 seconds. I think it has something to do with your ad rotator script "rotator.php".

The green is also awful. Why not change it to a color better complimenting the red. I understand it is to draw attention to the ads, but it makes the site look cheap.
 
Looks great, just what about rss feeds and were are the links to the facts and figures? I would think that would be rather important ...

The refreshing problem - the whole page shouldn't refresh, only the ads, as they rotate every 14 seconds. Older versions of Firefox have a problem with the site, but then FF has problems with a LOT of sites for some reason, and a lot of functionality had to be cut out of the site simply because FF hasn't reached a level of maturity yet where it handles everything thrown at it (*puts on flame suit*). IE, Opera, Navigator etc work 100% with the site, luckily... :)

The green area - this was used to balance out the amount of darkness on the page, not so much to make the ads stand out. A lot of red and dark grey is used, and I played around with colours for hours and this seemed to be the best combination. You should have seen what yellow looked like! ;)

RSS feed - coming soon (finally)

Facts & info - has moved to here - just started making a menu bar.. hopefully Firefox renders it properly.. lol :p

512k ADSL costs R599 (home) and R699 (biz) excluding phone line rental and ISP charges of R175 upwards.

- In the UK you get all that for £9 with no restrictions and even British Telecom's minimum speed is 2Mbps.
ADSL's bandwidth cap is between 2GB and 30GB - local AND international download AND upload usage is counted towards that, whether it be e-mail, FTP, chatting - anything going in or out of your connection.

After downloading for 13 hours at full speed with ADSL you reach your cap and international access is virtually non-existent and slows to around 20Kbps (local remains unaffected - until they change that too). If you need more you need to purchase another account from your ISP, ranging from R175+.

Carlhead - I'd love to get (as you mention), tel line, Broadband (2Mbit) and unlimited for £9.00. Who's the SP you are refering to?

If your're in London I would rather get Zen Unlimited 24Mbit for 24.95.
