New iPhone here sooner than expected, says report

It cited unnamed people “familiar with the device’s production.”

6 year old chinese kids?

i imagine these low spec phones will all be smaller versions of the iphone, because it seems apple only knows how to design one shape. however, it would be a good move on their part, because it's not so much about who has the best phone, it's who has the coolest phone and for some reason people's faces light up when they see an apple.

I give zero credence to WSJ rumours about Apple. Their track record is abysmal.

The article itself is full of contradictions. Firstly they 'have to act more like Samsung if they want to survive.' Then at the bottom of the article, 'Last year, Apple captured nearly two-thirds of the profits in the industry, up from 62% in 2011. Samsung's share rose to about a third from 19%.'

Yip, I stopped reading as soon as I saw that it was from WSJ.

A new iPhone so soon will make consumers who just bought the iPhone 5 lose faith in the brand. People need to feel that they have the latest tech for as long as possible.

With the Samsung S4 on it's way, Apple have to speed up the release of the next iPhone!

Lol. You think Apple gives *****? And those who were going to upgrade will do so nonetheless, only earlier. Anyway, the current iPhone is plenty good enough to run up until iOS 10 with that A6 processor.

Should this be true, it has one purpose and one purpose only... To stop the S4 sales figures from reaching stratospheric heights prior to iPhone release as happened last year.

The sooner they put out an alternative the better. Samsung obliterated them by being able to market ("The next big thing is already here" campaign) a great phone some 6 months before Apple released theirs.

Samsung has been successful largely due to releasing their Galaxy flagship sometime before the iPhone because Apple's release schedule is so predictable. This will surely shake things up if true.

If by obliterated you mean sold less and made less profit then yeah good point.

No, I mean the S3 outselling the iPhone 4S for 2 straight quarters. But obliterated is a string word.
