New LG OLED 4K TVs

Hardly seen any normal OLED TVs in SA, and they're talking about 4k ones...

I'm trying to buy a 4k OLED TV, but I'm struggling to find one here. Any retailers selling them or am I going to have to ship one from overseas?

yeah but is this "LG 4K" or "Samsung 4K"

Don't really care. Just want a 4K OLED TV.

The Korean made monitors are quite spectacular if you can get your hands on one. They're inexpensive, use the same panels as the LGs/Samsungs and have their own panel drivers that work extremely well. They're technically PC monitors as they dont have any encoders for terrestrial signal, but if the feed is an HDMI from a PC or DSTV Decoder then everything works perfectly.

but the one isnt really 4K.

in any case, how many butterflies were killed in the making of the organic led screens. fooitog.

That's not a problem. Any links to a retailer selling one? Not too fussed about brand (Although I prefer LG). My only requirements are 4K, OLED and size 55" or higher

Again, I don't really care about the technical spat between LG and Samsung. And since I generally don't like Samsung products, it makes me care even less

and then some time later you get something that requires the real 4k resolution but your equipment doesnt support it and will not display, you then get upset because it said 4k on the box but it wasnt really 4K..

you can like and dislike what you want, i was just wondering about the process for not caring what you are paying for.

The Brands they're sold under are Microboard and Crossover. You'll need to find a way to import them, although you can find them quite easily on ebay and maybe get a willing mail forwarder?

EDIT: They use the proper RGB IPS panels, not the crappy psudo 4k panels.

Netflix streams in 4K to LG TV's. So I don't really care about anything else.
There hasn't been anything but Apple TV's connected to my TV's in a decade, why would I start caring now about "something that requires the real 4k".

So again, I don't really care the technical spat between LG and Samsung. And I don't care at all about anything Samsung makes

i bet this is how uncapped became capped in southa frica, "they can call it what they like as long as i can use what i need it for, who cares"
