Dear colleagues

It is my pleasure to announce that as of 1 April 2009, we will commence managing Telkom from within the New Organisational Structure.

This means that the three major Business Units of the new organisational structure will come into being. These are Telkom SA, Telkom International and Telkom Data Centre Operations. As you are no doubt aware, Pinky Moholi returns to Telkom on 1 May 2009 as the MD of the Telkom SA Business Unit.

This does not mean all the necessary work has been done to ensure that every aspect of the new structure is fully operational and in place. This is the work of the Telkom Renaissance initiative which will occur over the next 24 months to ensure that all the necessary remodelling, reorganising, revitalising and reengineering happens in order to make the new structure function optimally.

The rebirth of Telkom through this initiative is not just another project. It is a complete transformation of the way we focus on servicing our customers and creating value for our stakeholders, and will result in a new set of measurable outcomes for the Company. It is a positive, purposeful change towards a more accountable and competitive company.

This change is a necessary part of Telkom’s strategy to maintain and grow market share in South Africa whilst building a strong footprint on the continent.

Regular communications relating to the progress of Telkom Renaissance will be made available to you and I urge you to follow the progress with keen interest, and to offer your input whenever you feel you can contribute to the success of Telkom.

As a further step in the progress towards achieving our renewed company, I am pleased to make the following internal announcements:

1. With effect from 1 April 2009 and until the new MD is in place, Casper Kondo Chihaka is appointed Acting Managing Director of Telkom SA Business Unit.

2. With effect from 1 April 2009, Thami Msimango is appointed Acting Managing Director of Telkom International Business Unit as well as CEO of Multi-links

I do not believe it is necessary to make any appointments in relation to Telkom Data Centre Operations at this stage. Such appointments will be made in due course as a part of the Renaissance process. The organisational change impact mainly Group Executives and the affected persons will be informed separately.

I trust that you will give both these valuable team members your full support in their roles during these critical times.

The future of Telkom is in our hands and together we can make a success of Telkom. I thank you for your past commitment to the Telkom family and look forward to sharing with you in the future fruits of our revitalised dedication to a renewed company.

Warm regards
Reuben September

Internal telkom email that somehow ended up in my inbox :D

Thanks for this Gru - some info here which is interesting.

WOW, Mulletmariebiscuit still has RAS & pop3 access after all this time, or his still active internal email account is forwarding incoming email to his @telkomsa.net email account. Perhaps he unintentionally brought Telkodemonopolies' [ADSL] DNS servers to their knees...

Woah! Not that mullet
Friend of mine that works for Telkom. last name's very similar to molotsane so I started calling him that as a joke. Now everybody + dog calls him that :D
This Molotsane takes his job very serious. If Telkom had a gram of sense they'd promote him to management. He does a lot of good for the company, sad part is, most of it could get him fired.
