Why Linux on such a small partition?
I just want the stock passmark benches if that cpu and gpu.
MB - R637 - MSI Intel H81M-P33 H81
CPU - R2889 - Intel Core I5 4690 Processor 3.50Ghz
RAM - R976 - 2x Corsair Value Select A - 4GB DDR3 DRAM Desktop Memory - 1600Mhz
GPU - R2999 - Galax 96NPH8DVD9XX GeForce GTX 960 EXOC 2048MB GDDR5 128-bit
HDD - R758 - WD Blue 1TB 3.5 inch SATAIII
PSU - R599 - Super Flower SF-450P14XE(HX)
TOTAL: R8957
So that is R1 cheaper
What you guys say?
So is this what you went with in the end?
Yes. The PSU & GPU I got from Wootware, the rest from Aperture. Prices change the whole time so it helps to compare.
I got a CM Silencio 352 case but in retrospect I should have gone for the Corsair Carbide 200R, more space, better cable management. The CM get's a bit hot, an additional intake & exhaust fan would probably help/
This is what I currently have
Core2Quad 2Ghz
4GB DDR2 Ram 800mhz
320gb hdd
600w psu (i think, not too old, replaced about a year ago)
GTX460
Make & model of PSU?
Whatever money you can save you can put towards a GPU. Dunno what your budget is?
What do you have existing that you intend to reuse, case, monitor etc?
This is my current psu

Will reuse my screens, keyboard, mouse for now. Will upgrade screens later.
Don't think I would want to go over 10k looking at that build.
@ponder Surprised you didn't go with a ssd as your primary.
Case?
R10k leaves you in a weird spot, you can get the components I got and end up way under R10k or if you opt for a gtx970 it will come in between R10-11k.
Sleep on it![]()
Suggest me a 970. How's this?
