New PC Build

There are a few games where 4gb could be an issue but they are a small minority.

I guess...is it enough to spend the extra R700 or so? Up to the buyer, I guess. I'd rather drop to high from ultra in those games than throw money at edge cases.

Why 2x4 and not just a cheaper 8GB? E.g. http://www.wootware.co.za/corsair-c...-2v-c14-dual-quad-channel-desktop-memory.html
Otherwise buy it as a set, not singular: http://www.wootware.co.za/g-skill-f...-sdram-2400mhz-1-20v-cl15-desktop-memory.html
If you don't buy them as a set, you can't claim warranty if they do not work well with each other.
Good point re: as a set. But 1x8GB is only good if he intends on upgrading to 16GB later. Otherwise 2x4GB would be better for DDR performance.

Yeah, didn't check the 8GB price properly, thought it was R1039 and the 2x4GB 1079.
@OP go with the 2x4GB set from wootware + the mobo Zoidberg linked.

Personally I'd get it all from wootware rather, their support is great (unlike evetech if you bothered to take a look at earlier thread links).

EDIT:
And stay the fsck away from evetech,
https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showth...orrible-service-and-unfair-business-practices
https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/858970-Yes-another-Evetech-rant

Wrt to GPU you are spending way to much on certain brand names. If you want a gtx 1060 6gb look at zotac & galax, if you want a rx 480 look at powercolor or his, all available from wootware.

Thanls for the advice... I knew you guys know better!

I want the dual channel thats why I went 2x4gb.
Will be adding another 2x4gb in the near future.

I moved away from evetech. That qoute is from rebeltech.

Thought about it but I want them to assemble and test. I know how to assemble but my hands does not like small things.

As said, don't get two single RAM sticks, get them as a set, they're tested to work with each other. If there are any conflict issues, you can return them. If they conflict and you bought them singly, it's not Rebeltech's problem.
https://www.rebeltech.co.za/10996-c...1.html?search_query=8GB+kit+DDR4&results=2001

Side note: rebeltech's search function is terrible. I typed 8GB kit DDR4 and got
Crucial, 8GB Kit, DDR2-667, CL5, ECC-Registered

Crucial CT2KIT51272AB667, 8GB (2x 8GB) Kit, DDR2-667 (PC2-5300), CL5, 1.8v, 240pin, ECC-Registered, Dual Rank, Limited Lifetime Warranty
R4 246
while being sorted lowest price first.

The next item was R4239, then R1390.
You can't click on a category after searching, you first have to click home.

And they still refuse to acknowledge "300MB/s" for 300Mbps is wrong, stating the supplier page says that when the page they linked me for the supplier was correct in sayings Mbps.

EDIT:
Or this RAM pair if you're not worried about it being a different brand: https://www.rebeltech.co.za/10915-a...i.html?search_query=8GB+kit+DDR4&results=2001

I understand what you mean now about the ram. Added it as a kit.

So in the future when I add 2x4gb kit sticks can I add a different make?

I am still looking at the following card that is R700 cheaper.
Galax GeForce GTX 1060 EXOC 6GB GDDR5 PCI-E 3.0 Desktop Graphics Card - R3999

I have one of those. The Zotac is R200 more with an extra 1yr warranty (3yr vs 2yr) if that's important to you, not that I think the Galax will let you down. I'm on my second Galax already, first one was the gtx 960.

As long as you run them on a different channel, you're fine. I would still get the RX 480 8GB instead.

Your case: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156302 Anyone on this forum have experience with it? Seems there are issues with the front mic port, no side fan and the HDD enclosure is bad.

http://www.wootware.co.za/coolermaster-rc-k280-kkn1-k280-all-black-usb3-0-atx-desktop-chassis.html is an extra R180 but comes with a front fan as well and seems to have overall better reviews: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160 . Note as well that the Raidmax has a total of 35 reviews versus the cooler masters' 1805.

Though http://www.wootware.co.za/corsair-cp-9020050-ww-vs550-550w-desktop-power-supply.html does not have a power cord, I assume you have one or just add R50 for one: http://www.wootware.co.za/standard-2m-kettle-cord-power-cable-with-3-prong-sa-plug.html

With the delivery, they're based in Cape Town. If you need them to assemble, message and ask for a quote based on the parts.

I will buy everything from rebeltech except the GPU. That I will get from Wootware. They have the RX480 and GTX1060 cheaper than anyone else. That red devil has impressive specs.

I added that case on my Rebeltech order.

Thanks!!!!

I'd also include the RAM sticks from Wootware as they're cheaper. I also know for a fact that support will swap them out for you, my 2x8GB started conflicting 10 months later, I sent them in for replacement, got a new pair within a week. It's not difficult to insert RAM. Actually, none of this is difficult, but here: http://www.wootware.co.za/pc-assembly-and-stress-testing.html for R300. It will still work out cheaper than that Rebeltech quote you had originally.

Don't forget the price of Windows unless you have a spare copy lying around. :p

/if you haven't noticed by now, I am slowly turning into/am already a wootware fanboy as they service has always been amazing for me. Laptop replacement due to key issue: 5 days news laptop, delay was due to PartServe. Router dropped WiFi, 3 days later, new Archer D5. Asked advice on a screen, got a detailed reply on the same business day. RAM sticks issue, new pair within a week.
I've probably purchased close to R50k worth of stuff from them (over the last 3 years) and have yet to have any bad experience.
