New prepaid meter problems

This helped
FOR ANYONE WHO GETS THIS ERROR HERE IS THE FIX:

1) plug your CIU into a plug socket (Even though there is no power)

2) Hold ENTER until battery power kicks in.

3) Enter your token/pin to receive your pow

This helped. Thank you!

My credit was 0.00 and I was trying to recharge with a token.

I plugged the meter to a plug running via an eskom line in order for the meter to sync with eskom, even though there was no power.

Other plugs running via a solar system had power.

The meter switched off and I had to switch it on a few times before it gave me the option to enter a token. Finally it worked.

These meters are frustrating

Hey,

So I stay in Ekurhuleni and the council just installed a prepaid electricity meter yesterday on the property. And to start you off they gave me 45 units which only lasted 12 hours. And now I have no electricity as a result of this. And the problem is made worse by the fact that the CIU( customer interface unit) is not working so that I can input the token I bought and showing me "Search pan" and thereafter it switches off. What can I do
Hello.
Here I am finding myself facing the same issue guy's, how do we really fix this "search pan" error.
Please assist me.
Thanks

The Landis & Gyr meter have always been known to have communication problems now it gives pan search instead of the old 30 error why can’t they learn from the Chinese the Hexing meters do not have this error ,better communication system maybe.

Guys when you stumble on this error u need to ensure your box is as close to the main power box as possible.
Plug it in to a socket even though you don't have power, and keep your finger on the power button. The device will switch on, it will search pan but not for long amd then switch over giving you minimal time to punch the code in.

Hi I have a Fault finding guide for prepaid meters
but it is for the older Gemini MK3 PLC meters There does not seem to be much for the newer meters and keypads P160 keypad and E460 meter

I did this and it worked.Plugged on the socket closest to the outside meter(have been trying with others inside the house and it didn't work). After pressing hard the "search pan"error clears and shows you available units, you're then able to load your voucher. Thanks a lot Chris.

Hello.
I also have the same problem you know and what's you say we must do does not work because the time you switch on the keypad this "search pan" error appears immediately and then you cannot punch the key to redeem the voucher
I have the same problem how did you fix it?

Anyone had this issue with this p160?

Basically it connects and I get the number of units left.

But any time I enter a code it tries sending it and just sits there trying like photo. Comms frozen. After about 5 mins it says no comms... Then reconnect and shows minutes again.

The token isn't being rejected, it's just not seeming to get any answer from the meter, yet it can give other info?!

Time is ticking... 86 units left and currently unable to top up

Nb: already tried an old token etc... It doesn't reject just hangs.

Looks hopeful, just chill and try it again, there seems to be comms on the display, so probably a temporary glitch.

Tried it last night... And later...
And moved to another plug point this morning...
And then this afternoon...

Not temporary

Was the meter recoding done on it if it's applicable?

Meter is only about a year old, but haven't had any of those extra tokens so don't think it's applicable.
Either way the meter isn't rejecting... It's just hanging and then giving up but weirdly it IS getting to the meter else it wouldn't know the units... (search pan is successfully a few seconds after powering it back on... But just whenever I enter a token it sits there locked and frozen until it decides "no comms" then minute later back to normal).

Maybe it's soemthing to do with rain... As that hadn't stopped for the past 48 hours... 3 months... My memory is hazy with all this rain
