FOR ANYONE WHO GETS THIS ERROR HERE IS THE FIX:
1) plug your CIU into a plug socket (Even though there is no power)
2) Hold ENTER until battery power kicks in.
3) Enter your token/pin to receive your pow
This helped. Thank you!
My credit was 0.00 and I was trying to recharge with a token.
I plugged the meter to a plug running via an eskom line in order for the meter to sync with eskom, even though there was no power.
Other plugs running via a solar system had power.
The meter switched off and I had to switch it on a few times before it gave me the option to enter a token. Finally it worked.
These meters are frustrating
Hello.This helped
Hello.Hey,
So I stay in Ekurhuleni and the council just installed a prepaid electricity meter yesterday on the property. And to start you off they gave me 45 units which only lasted 12 hours. And now I have no electricity as a result of this. And the problem is made worse by the fact that the CIU( customer interface unit) is not working so that I can input the token I bought and showing me "Search pan" and thereafter it switches off. What can I do
I found the same error. they have updated their website.Says 404 page not found
I have the same problem how did you fix it?Hello.
I also have the same problem you know and what's you say we must do does not work because the time you switch on the keypad this "search pan" error appears immediately and then you cannot punch the key to redeem the voucher
Looks hopeful, just chill and try it again, there seems to be comms on the display, so probably a temporary glitch.Anyone had this issue with this p160?
Basically it connects and I get the number of units left.
But any time I enter a code it tries sending it and just sits there trying like photo. Comms frozen. After about 5 mins it says no comms... Then reconnect and shows minutes again.
The token isn't being rejected, it's just not seeming to get any answer from the meter, yet it can give other info?!
Time is ticking... 86 units left and currently unable to top up
Nb: already tried an old token etc... It doesn't reject just hangs.

Was the meter recoding done on it if it's applicable?Tried it last night... And later...
And moved to another plug point this morning...
And then this afternoon...
Not temporary
