New reputation system

Actually that's why it doesn't work. Those with rep power don't rep people outside the clique.

No it just means nobody with actual reputation has even cared to give you some...

Should see it as a sign.

The "clique" can only become one because they gained the reputation to get there.

BUT

It is a broken system for not having negative Rep.

What I should have stated is that because it's initially given to a group of people it will naturally tend to stay with that group of people. Have gotten plenty of reps from other people in fact. The only sign to be seen here is that the system is flawed and negative rep would only make that worse. The only system that's ever worked is a thank post system.

But the Thank post system is an extension of the reputation system on vBulletin.

MyBB just never had the reputation system enabled so the Thank posts system didn't work.

The system works but it's not a short term thing.

Look again in a year and your view might be different.

I'll rep Swa when I'm at a pc. If only tapatalk could rep
Lol thanks but no need any more, I have rep power. My problem is with the system that will stay skewed with people that try to contribute but have no rep power.

If you have no rep power qoute this post and I'll give you a little rep.

(I will get rep in TK and like Robin hood bring that rep to you the people.)

I am Reppin Wood

It's not. You don't seem to know what the thank post system is. You don't give rep with it but you can combine it with the rep system so people can choose one or both.

The system is skewed because not everyone has rep power but it depends on those with rep power. I don't think my view will change.

I know exactly what it is.

The Thank system just adds a pre-defined number of points to the Reputation system whereas the conventional system bases the points on the total Reputation of the person giving the reputation system.

Both are broken if only giving positive feedback. Almost like those snowflake models for children that get points for showing up at the athletics.

No it simply says who thanked a post. It may show how many times someone has been thanked but that's it and it's optional. It's not a points system and it doesn't track reputation.

Any reputation system that doesn't include all members is flawed from the start, negative feedback or not.

It does include everyone from the start.

You are essentially just pissed off that other people have reputation and you don't.

Also the general implementation of the Thanks button is to integrate with reputation system. Sure you can switch it off if you really want to, but ultimately it was setup as a "shortcut" to the reputation system.

A second vote if you will.

Every forum I've either administered or been a part of that uses the system either has them both integrated or uses Thanks as the primary means of gaining reputation points.

You're not listening to the argument. Not everyone can give reputation so it does not include everyone from the start and mainly a group of people giving reputation amongst themselves. It creates the very situation it supposedly should prevent. I'll just ignore your comment about being pissed off.

As for the thank post button everywhere I've seen it it says who thanked a post within the post. It's not the rep system and it doesn't give rep unless you integrate the two. It only indicates how useful people find someone's posts.

How do you mean not everyone can give reputation?

Who is excluded exactly?

If you mean because you are getting no rep from other people right now...everyone started there...so everyone is included.

Besides, it's all useless internet points.

Everyone without reputation points is excluded.

Here's an example of the thank post system:

They gain reputation through a certain number of reputations given to them.

There is always reputation points traded, they only start registering as green blocks at certain levels.

But everyone has a baseline amount of reputation to spread.

I know the Thanks system very well, in all its iterations.

Are you really so desperate for internet admiration? Has it ever occurred to you that maybe your score is perfectly accurate to your general likeability here?

So maybe just change your conduct instead of arguing that the system is broken.

Or do you prefer that we all write no fail exams?

Same problem here. At least I'm green with no rep points

Nonsense. The baseline is 0 so there isn't always reputation given. You keep misrepresenting what I say and trying to make it about me. Not working, the system is proven broken and nothing you say can change that.

Do you have access to the admin panel of this website?

Didn't think so.

I'm not about to register a new account just to prove a point, but the default vBulletin configuration has baseline points for new users.

It's a very mature system by now.

You just seem like a sore loser. If you don't like it, ignore it.
