I hate the fact that every time you want to upgrade your CPU you have to upgrade the mobo and RAM as well ... and the Intel socket is changing again soon as well. Arghhh.

It's should be easy enough to find second hand 939 X2's though.

Try your Junkmail/CapeAds and classified forum sections, eg. Here, prophecy.co.za, systemshock.co.za and gumtree forums.

The only place I see on my pricelists is Frontosa - they have this socket 939 CPU - not x2 though?...
AMD Socket 939 Opteron 150 , 2400mhz , 2000mhz HT2.0 link x 1 - 8Gb/sec , memory bandwidth - 12.8gb/sec , 2400mhz - 128k L1 + 1mb L2 - box cpu @ R2,022 + VAT

BTW, I have one of these in my server - got it a few years ago and works great...

Sybaritic have that too, as well as two other CPUs (not X2s). Way too expensive though.
