I'm helping a friend set up his new StarSat decoder. I am an Elsat Accredited DStv Installer, but my first time to install the new StarSat decoder.
Problem is that it's searching for channels but don't find any.
I installed 80cm dish with normal single LNB and aligned the dish to the SES 5 Satellite with my Elsat model:MSK Satellite Finder. Get signal on my Satellite Finder but at first no signal values on the decoder
Then changed the settings on the decoder as follows:
It only is giving this one option for the satellite and it is SES 5. (There is no SES 5 DVB-S2 or any other options)
LNB Type: Normal (Default)
LNB default value: 10700
Frequency: 11976
Polarization: Vertical (V)
Symbol Rate; 27500
All these settings I googled on the internet. I do get signal strength 94% and signal quality 93% on the decoder now.
There is a red and green light on the decoder. As soon as I press the F2 button on the remote to search it searches but comes back with the message "No channels in channel list".
[IMPORTANT]: Receive signal on "Vertical polarization" but signal drops to 0% when searching on "Horizontal polarization".
When I try "Reset to default" then only the red light is on and no signal on the decoder again.
Contact the call centre but no success.
