Far left, it was R10499 when I bought it, the cheapest I've ever seen a 4070 for locally.

I mean why not just wait till the 6090, or the 7090? Why must he wait 6 months maybe more?It would be madness to buy a 4090 now when the 5090 is coming early next year but:

Hi,
I`m upgrading my rig somewhat, wanting to get the 4090 24GB GPU. Who is the cheapest supplier in ZA? These cards are not cheap goddaaaamn but I also need to upgrade my RAM and maybe motherboard so am trying to shave costs where I can. Thanks all.
Edit: A word
Thanks for replying, I`m using the card for ComfyUI, gaming is secondary hereA 4070 Super for R12k is enough for gaming nowadays. Get one of those and wait for the 5000 series of cards to launch next year.

I feel like I need some advice, this is all very confusing considering my shituation.I wouldn't buy a 4090 now. Anyway, check Wootware, Progenix, TitanIce, DreamWareTech, Rebeltech and Takealot.
Filter by price, lowest to highest, pick one.
@Fairy Nuff - You're saying upgrade your RAM and motherboard though...this leads me to believe you are not a tech expert, which is fine, but maybe we can offer some useful advice.
Can you list your current parts please?
I`m currently running a 12Gb VRAM card with 16Gb RAM, the workflows fall apart at the 3rd upscale phase with OOM errors. The ARC cards look good on price but I`ve been advised NVidia tech is the best for AI models4070 super has 12Gb of DDR6X and decent cores to run ComfyUI.
Perhaps look at the Arc series if you need better non-gaming graphics performance.
Okay cool. I'm not that familiar with video editing so we probably need some advice from someone with more experience in that field as I'm not sure how much the CPU relates to performance in that regard.I feel like I need some advice, this is all very confusing considering my shituation.
Specs are :
Mobo: Asus PRIME H610M-E D4
Current GPU: 1060Ti 4GB
RAM: 16GB
CPU: I think its 19 something, I dont have the ful nameherer now
PSU: 600W
HDD: 250Gb NVME
Screens: 3 Dell 24 inch
So I basically want to throw in a 3090 24Gb, or a 4090 24GB, the 3090 is cheaper than 4090 but stocks are low possibly I think because its an older card.
This is not for gaming, this is for rendering videos/animations etc. Some gaming will occur.
On memory I want to push the board to max, with 64Gb. Power supply will need to go up to 750W I believe for the 3090 or 4090
Not sure if you need anything else..thanks.

I belive from what I read that the card with the most CUDA cores is best, the 4090 has 16384 whereas the 3090 has only 10496. I could be talking out my butthole here because this is not something I`ve had to understand before so maybe I got it wrong.Okay cool. You would probably want to go for an 850W PSU to be safe, especially if you go 4090. Not sure how much faster the 4090 is than the 3090 when it comes to video editing.
What software are you using?
You're right about the 4090 being better, it is the fastest GPU available for purchase today. It's also extremely expensive and I'm not sure the difference in performance to the 3090 so I don't know whether it's a good option. Theoretically it's the fastest so if that's what you want then get that.I belive from what I read that the card with the most CUDA cores is best, the 4090 has 16384 whereas the 3090 has only 10496. The software is ComfyUI.
For ComfyUI, you can get by with an RTX3060 12gb VRAM - it's what I use. Obviously, more VRAM is better, but personally, I can't justify spending over R30k on an RTX4090 or 3090 - I am tempted to upgrade to a 4070 16gb, but I reckon I'll wait until the RTX5000 series launches to wait and see what happens from a cost perspective. As an interim solution if I really needed to push super high resolution graphics or video, I'd look at using one of the many ComfyUI-cloud services.I belive from what I read that the card with the most CUDA cores is best, the 4090 has 16384 whereas the 3090 has only 10496. I`m currently using a 12Gb 3060 with 16Gb system RAM. On the ipiv morph workflow it hits the 3rd upscale and throws OOM with all resources used to the max, so I was wondering if getting 64Gb system RAM would make it better. Not sure of the benefits of a faster CPU and more RAM.
There are people here who are more knowledgeable on this topic, let's see what they say.
More system RAM would be good for future proofing, but 32GB is probably sufficient for now. You really don't want to fall back on system RAM for SD if you don't have to, it'll take hours/days/weeks to render stuff.I`m currently using a 12Gb 3060 with 16Gb system RAM. I`ve also looked at various cloud providers for this, ThinkDiffusion, RunComfy etc and whilst they offer great services I`m afraid of dumping more credits every month as I have found myself doing with all the other AI resources I pay for every month.
I figured getting my own rig could also save me around R1.2k a month on subscriptions. With the 5000 series coming out I wonder by how much the other cards will drop, if at all.
