Yea sometimes they load the price by 10% before they calculate the 15%

Maybe reckoning any supllier woild at least take 10% margjn minimum

That is what i found on some

AMD comments on burning AM5 sockets — chipmaker blames motherboard vendors for not following official BIOS guidelines

AMD provides an official response to the latest AM5 burnout/failure issues primarily affecting ASRock motherboards.

AMD has finally responded to recent socket burnout issues plaguing some third-party AM5 motherboard vendors — including ASRock. Quasarzone had a Q&A session with AMD's David McAfee and Travis Kirsch, who explained the reason behind these burnout issues.

AMD claims the underlying problem behind the burnout issues is caused by some ODM BIOSes that do not adhere to AMD's recommended values. However, AMD has further clarified that the issue is complex and is working closely with its partners to resolve it. AMD also recommended users update their motherboard BIOS to the latest version.

This is a translated discussion.

There is more to the above interview. It is basically the same as what Intel said about their processors. For notice, this issue isn't limited to ASRock. ASRock does have the most cases. Even on the latest BIOS updates, there are still incidents. It's hard to determine how accurate all these claims are, but at least AMD acknowledged it as an issue.

What was also said, and not mentioned, is that users shouldn't be too aggressive with PBO and overclocking. At some point, the Ryzen Master Utility was also pointed out as being overly aggressive. That isn't mentioned, though the issue was addressed in a patch, even though the bad versions can still be downloaded.

At this point in time. Ryzen 9000 now has its own Ryzen Master Utility branch. Hmmmm...

As said many times in the past. Do keep your AMD BIOS updated, and make sure that you are on the latest AGESA.

Yeah I need to start following this, cause I've now got a 9000 series.
Gaming difference between the 5700x3d and the 9700x isn't that much really.
I just got a bee in my bonnet and having had the same AM4 motherboard for 6 years was like now time to change and bam what happens AMD announced a new AM6

Good luck trying to stay ahead of the curve. Personally, was toying with going socket 1851, but intel is replacing it late next year with socket 1954. Would have been 2 grand more, for little gain(12%), was already going DDR 5. Wasnt in the mood to pay the early adopters tax, even thought it isn't brand new. 1700 just made more sense at the time, for price/performance.

Yeah but that's Intel :) AMD I had the same board for 6 years across 3 generations.

Yeah, know, know, intel is going to intel :D. Was very tempted going AM5 and 7600, but multi threading was slower(not by much), and didn't need gaming performance and it was 1.3k more for the CPU. Was a toss up.

The only thing I need to sort out now for my build is new fans. The ID cooler fan, is a bit loud for a hydraulic bearing, it shouldn't be. I have some machine oil, I can try and apply. But it is annoying the fck out of me

Id cooling fans pretty quite, used a few there air coolers. Can't comment on there aio, I am not fan of aio's anymore.

At full speed the fan is quiet, but at lower/automatic speeds there is a long hum. Need to replace the fan any ways has a 3 pin RGB header and mboard is 4 pin. Plus I went with the white ID cooler, now I need to find white fans.....sigh

Intel ruined their trust. And now that USA has their fingers in the pot, who knows what they will put in there,

Remember how the US banned Chinese tech for fear of backdoors... how the turns have tabled :P

Conspiracy theory much......? If you paid attention to the news, you would have known while the US government has 10% stake, it doesn't give a board seat nor does it give them any voting powers or oversight over intel.....sigh. Additionally, news makes it like trump is the mastermind of this, but it is actually something the previous administration did. It is based on a law that was passed, the chips and science act of 2022.

FYI

It is a bit more complicated than issues with their 13th and 14th gen chips. Their dumb ass CEO is to blame, in large part, their slow adoption of new technologies and general complacency. Intel was still pretty much top dog 5 or so generations ago in the consumer CPU segment of the market. They **** the bed on the server side of their business and simply weren't able to reply to AMD's epic line up of server chips.

Shouldn't have to remind you, AMD suffered a similar slump a couple of years ago, when they weren't able to reply to intel's, core2duo and core2quad line up, Between 2006 and 2017 AMD, pretty much had to ride out their manufacturing issues as well.
Before that, intel had issues with their netburst chip design where AMD was top dog with their Athlon cpus.

Intel is in a similar position AMD was in between 2006 and 2017, in having to ride out their current roadmap of CPU manufacturing.

AMD is also a fabless company, where as intel is not. It is way way way more complicated, when you have to spend billions on your own manufacturing plants, retro fit and upgrade and having to build more plants for future nodes. It is way more complicated than simply "trust issues"........

Not really, but the rest of the world will see it that way regardless of what it actually entails.

The part of losing trust though, that's been proven plenty of times over.

Yes and that’s why I think you’re wrong. Intel has never been trusted by foreign governments, ever, nothing has changed.

Well, untrusted Intel is doing just fine overall.

2025 Projected Intel CPU market share:
- 67% Desktop
- 55% Server
- 79% Mobile

On another note, the **** is even the point of R60k GPU's anymore?

Bought a Maxsun B580 from Wootware, will see how it goes with my old 5700x3D that is going into my sons case, sometime :-). Cause the 2060 super is going to be long in the tooth now.
