3200Mhz = 1600mhz which is achievable by every chip

It also matters if you've got an existing set of ram sticks, or if this pair will be the only one.
Are your workloads memory-bandwidth limited?

(hint, hwinfo64 will show you memory read/write bandwidth if you need to see if your CAD projects are memory-performance-constrained)

Thanks, just went with the Ripjaws.

Replaced because I was getting bluescreens & also errors with a memtest86 scan. Took out the old ram, put this new ram in and....bluescreens and again errors with memtest. Went into BIOS (Asus ROG B550 mobo) and disabled DOCP (their overclocking profile) and what'dya know - no errors on the memtest.

I see Wootware now has maxsun boards, price looks really good and has a 3 year waranty but no idea if its any good ?
 
Now that I have remembered. For Ryzen 9000 users who are overclocking using Ryzen Master, do use the new version.


3.0.0.4199 was released on July 23rd. There is speculation that some dying Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, mostly happening on ASRock motherboards, could also be linked to Ryzen Master. This is unknown. Where you don't do overclocking within the BIOS (or UEFI), please use the updated Ryzen Master version.

Ryzen 3000 to 8000 still needs to use the older version (2.14.2.3341). The same with Ryzen 2000 and older, which use an older version (2.13.1.3097).

I have only noted the new version with the latest Threadripper benchmarking reviews.

At this point in time, it is unknown whether v3 will support Ryzen 7000/8000, and related Zen Threadripper series CPUs.

Many people are unhappy, but Maxwell and Pascal had some good years. That wasn't limited to game support; it included all stacks. CUDA on these architectures will be supported until the Game Ready driver that is to be released in October. Then you still have security updates until October 2028. Also, these GPUs won't die when the drivers aren't updated anymore. For some reason, some people think that these GPUs won't work without new drivers. I am quite sure that some less demanding titles and games made on older game engines will still work like they did yesterday when the drivers are retired.

Everything still technically works on my Vega 64, and uhm... Feature-level support was completed years ago. At least it is the better Linux GPU.

On Linux, thanks to Mesa 3D, NVK + Zink is making progress. It still has ways to go, but attention is being given.

Thanks yeah will just be patient spoke to them a few weeks ago and they mailed the supplier but haven't heard anything back will follow up again
 
Going to take a chance on the Maxsun, though it only having 2 SATA ports means I'll finally have to retire the old SATA SSD and just replace them with the 2TB NVME

OK apparently they are not well known because they cater mainly to China but their MB and GPU units are solid.

Try it out where available. OptiScaler and DLSS Swapper (GitHub repo) should help where XeSS 2 is not available. Native implementations should be better, but at least more developers will adopt the SDK.

Never had issues with any products but people complaining about Asus / MSi warranties anyway so probably worth it. Also gona test out one of teh boards in a new rig
 
In 25 years I had issues only 3 times.

1. BFG flagship GPU: Card died. BFG closed down. PC store closed. Owner's mom actually contacted me to make refund arrangements as they did not have cash on hand. This one specifically was a fun one. Got me so cheerful one day my G15 keyboard slipped and fell on a wall.

2. ASUS MB: Dead LAN.

3. ASUS: Dead Audio.

After that I switched to MSI exclusively and never had an issue.

Yeab msi warranty ate support strict, they check motherbaords i book in before they book it in. Any marks etc they wont even book it in. Gigabyte I have given in rusted components they still replace it
 
Well, my Foster Son bought a build from Wootware, in component form. I have just put it together, and have a "memory" issue.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3d, B850 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi 7, XPG LANCER DDR5 32GBx2 PC5-48000 6000MT/s

When you switch it on, motherboard CPU, LED flashes, then sticks on Memory LED.

Any known issues with this setup?
