New The PC Build Thread

Feel similar but RAM is an exception. That they literally sell on OC specs and it's a good boost for everything you do on PC whether game or browse.

BIOS depends on features and CPU/GPU settings required to be enabled. That I never run stock.
I mean more disable/stock that can cause instability, rule out everything and go from there. I have XMP enabled on mine, as I don't have system issues. lol

B450. MSI Carbon Pro Wifi. Bios was updated to the latest version.
Ok still on pci 3. Don't think that would cause any issues. What does the event viewer indicate after a crash?

Right, so i just tried another run, and its now passed both times. All i did was change the ram back to default 2133. Damn hey. Im running more tests, but i am now quite positive. You guys have been a massive help!!! Im really hoping thats all it is, but will be running the other tests as well to make sure.

EDIT: Scratch that. If i moer everything to max it still happened. Then i put DLSS off and it passed again. Maybe it is that dam game. So far all the 3d mark stress tests are fine. I dont think its the GPU anymore thats for sure.

Remember to paste that crash report please.

We can narrow it down then.

Nvidia is usually one of only two things.

Have you downloaded and installed afterburner yet and down clocked ?

Not yet, but i think Rayne was right. Its Red Dead. Specifically using DLSS. I can get nothing else to crash now. Ran 60 time spys, and steel nomads. Cyberpunk benchmark works fine, as does Furmark and the Unigine stuff.

I think he was right on the money with it being the game. I feel like an idiot, but also relieved. Still paranoid but yeah i sinply cannot get it to crash at all now, but as soon as DLSS is on in that game with the rest maxxed it crashes, and it always crashes around the exact same part of the benchmark.

I had a similar thing with the 9070xt and Oblivion Remastered. Could not play the game for 5mins without a crash, everything else works flawlessly.

I also thought the card was faulty.

Well that is good news at least, Best of luck driver hunting, I am sure you can eventually get one that works.

So I think the 5070Ti I bought is faulty. Basically, started crashing in Red Dead 2. Sometimes to desktop, sometimes black screen that needs a forced restart, and sometimes just straight up restarts the PC.

CPU and memory pass their stress tests. 3D Mark stress tests (Speedway and Port Royal) have sometimes passed, and other times also crashes the PC entirely.

I bought it 25 days ago from Evetech, and am really worried they do one test it passes and send it back to me. I know they are notoriously bad with RMA. I just cant see it being anything else.
Saw an old tannie walking out with one and a bunch of stuff when I was there.

Was that for you?

Possibky cable.

I understand that, but if it were the game, I cant believe that it would hard reset my PC. Crash to desktop sure, but hard reset, or complete black screen freeze?
Can test it with my GPU cable or with my PSU (has its own cable) if you're willing to bring it over. All the way in Kempton though.

So I have a spare cable from Palit in the GPU box.

Okay.

See things are semi resolved at least.

Don't have the game otherwise I would test it too.

<snip> I will just have to do tests in the other PC tonight. Make sure. I will just use my other PC to power the GPU from its PSU. Then I can rule it out if it still happens.

Though it sounds like the issue is now solved, what did you mean by this?

Sorry i worded it funny lol. My other pc has the same psu, and in a fractal case its quite easy to reverse it out with all the cables then connect them all to my main pc. Its a cluster job but it works lol. It was how i discovered my last psu was faulty.

But this issue is still here it seems. It was fine for a bit, and now im getting crashes again in speed way. I am so at a loss here. I have a few dump files i will upload.

I had two bsods, and one of them was just using steam and that was one of those IRQL_EQUAL_LESS bsods. Left pc overnight. This morning run another bench of 3d mark and boom pc restarted. Ugh it seems helluva random.

Im going to test it with my old ram as well. Its only 16gb but im also now starting to wonder if its the new ram that is the issue. Jir i need a PC tech lol.

Yeah theres still an issue for sure. Bsods and crashes just arent normal. And its so inconsistent. Im tearing my hair out with this PC atm.
