Life is good

Now when do we get a thread about our kitchen mixers? :D

I recently bought a small toaster oven after using one on a trip to Japan. You can use it to make toast (not as well as a normal toaster) but it's very convenient for cooking slices of pizza, hamburger patties, melting cheese etc. Unfortunately the ByD:sign one from HiFiCorp only lasted about a year but it's quite a useful appliance. It's only slightly larger than a toaster.

I know 2 people with platinum kettles which have broken within a year.

Have had a Breville for yonks now and it takes extra thick slices.

If I can give you some advice here look for a old Kenwood Chef. Those things are engineered to last, I got two for free (A901. I've restored the one so far and the other one is a backup, they are somewhere between 30-40yrs old. Strip the whole thing down, wash and clean every little piece, stripped the gearbox cleaning it and new grease. There are companies that restore these things and sell them as well as provide spare parts kits. http://www.kenwoodchefrestore.co.uk/

My wife has one about the same age, I call it the apocalypse machine cos its seriously noisy.
Still nothing can come close to how well it operates and its probably never going to break.
