I've always kept a spare 2-slice toaster in the pantry. Just in case...But if the toaster packs up, at least you can fall back on tea and scones.![]()

If I can give you some advice here look for a old Kenwood Chef. Those things are engineered to last, I got two for free (A901. I've restored the one so far and the other one is a backup, they are somewhere between 30-40yrs old. Strip the whole thing down, wash and clean every little piece, stripped the gearbox cleaning it and new grease.
