"Failing to stop at an accident to ascertain injuries and assist" - damn!

Guys, that part is aimed at a driver involved in the accident aka "Hit and Run" :D
Not John Doe driving past

Failing to keep left - R 1000 fine.

Overloading a taxi by 11 people or more R 1500.00 fine.

Did Malema decide on these penalties ?

I note that using a shifting spanner for a steering wheel is going to knock you back R 750 - probably still less than the cost of a new one.

"Failing to stop at an accident to ascertain injuries and assist" - damn!
Are you sure its not for an accident you were involved in? Hit and run.

What's the source of this info?

Failing to report accident R 1 000 3 :)

so that would mean you owe the AARTO R1 000 bucks even if you died on the scene :)

This new system is hectic. I've received 2 summons' to appear in court for doing 121 and 123km on the highway, near roadworks.

They are not kidding around. People are going to be losing their licences left right and centre.

Scam. I think this is illegal...

They used to do this in CT, but I see they have stopped now. I have a few 100 ZAR outstanding... I'll go to court for that, fsck them.

No it's not a scam. Spoken to the magistrate. It is now the new system. There is nothing i can do to get out of it.

Reckless driving and driving under the influence

Reckless driving Court 6

So if they want to check you for driving under the influence and you refuse, your pay R1500, get 5 points, but if you are found to be driving under the influence then you go to court...

Why don't people just refuse rather, it seems like the consequences are not as harsh...

Because then the judge decides what fine you are going to pay and how many points he is going to take. So it is far worse.

Not forgetting to mention spending the day in court in the middle of Johannesburg is hardly a walk in the park.

Reckless driving and driving under the influence
....
Driving under the influence Court 6
Blood alcohol level for:
Ordinary motorist not less than 0,05 g per 100 ml Court 6
PrDP driver not less than 0,02 g per 100 ml Court 6
Breath alcohol level for:
Ordinary motorist not less than 0,24 mg per 1 000 ml Court 6
PrDP driver not less than 0,10 mg per 1 000 ml Court 6
Smoked before blood/breath specimen was taken R 1 250 4
Refusing to give blood or breath sample R 1 500 5

So if I refuse then they cannot determine the level. Seems like a bargain, R1500, 5 points vs 6 points and no court. Am I reading this correctly?

EDIT:
Damn, someone beat me to it.
