New Vodacom iPhone 4 pricing

I'm surprised that the data packages are so small. I use way more than 300MB/m on my Wi-Fi limited iPod Touch (not even an iPhone that's got data access everywhere). I have to update apps just about every day and these updates can chow up data like hungry wolves. And then there is TuneIn Radio ... The idea of owning an iPhone is to hit that data bundle hard else it's waste of good technology. (I guess most will use Wi-Fi at home, so it may well work out with the small HSPA bundles).

Gotta love competition.

The MTN packages are still more attractive, however. R200 airtime, 25 SMS and 40MB more data per month.

Apparently the MTN 150MB is only a special till December when it reverts to 75MB.

I love how cellphone operators create their own currency: "R200 airtime" as if "R200" airtime is standardised across all networks. speak in terms of minutes and then it will be easier to compare...

And again, shows you the mentality of Vodacom, 1st shaft the consumer, then if they really really have to, they will lower the prices.

I KNOW! Doesn't it make your fuucking blood boil ? They have been raping us with the iPhone 3g at ridiculous prices and now all of a sudden its
"Hey guys, look we can actually give it to you at a decent price!.Yea we kinda realised we can't shaft you anymore, hehe sorry about that! :D"

Greedy prlcks!

Just on principle I will always go to MTN first for this, just because they showed us Cell operators don't have to rape us when they have the latest technologies.

<Thumbs up to MTN>

110 meg a month is ridiculous... but i guess only people who already have a phone know that so vodacom will be able to entice plenty of new people who are then forced to buy more data. no better than tik dealers...

Oh please, don't insult tik dealers.

Hmm R200 worth of airtime...seriously??? How many minutes of talk time is that again? I want 200 minutes of talk time thank you very much. Oh and 150MB of data per month, wow so thats like a whopping 5MB per day to use on my shiny new iPhone 4 :(

+10000000

Im over MTN and especially Vodacom. These guys have been shafting us for years, I'm now supporting Cell C just out of moral obligation. Vodacom and MTN wont see my money again and Im sure there are a lot of people like us out there.

They can plain and simply KMA.

So with the Vodacom version you get 130 minutes (per second) versus 85 minutes on MTN.

It appears this round goes to Vodacom, bring on round three.

Is there a pay in?

*I'm operating by memory, so i may be wrong.

I don't see any free minutes on their new iPhone 4 option on the VC website. Just says 110MB of data, føkall else (or am I blind?).

And why, when I look at the comparative specs they say their is no VOIP on the iPhone 4? I use Skype on my 3GS all the time - granted it's on my wi-fi network, but I am sure the phone is capable of it outside of that network.

Its a topup 275s which gives you R275 worth of airtime. The calls cost R1.99 a minute.

Which means R275/R1.99 = 138.18 minutes or 8291 seconds.

Thanks. Geez, who does the marketing for these clowns? Do they think we're mind readers?

Seems like a reasonable contract - would certainly suit my needs, but to be honest, I swore never to enter into another contract with anyone, so I will just content myself with my "paid for" 3GS on iOS4. Same thing less a camera and a few pixels (which I can't see anyway).

I second that. Not a f*** will I get stuck in another contract with vodacom. My 3Gs on pay as you go is just fine thanks!

Vodacom releases new iPhone 4 pricing

Vodacom released two new iPhone 4 contract tariffs, complementing its existing Talk 500 pricing

Come on. Will somebody please put the following into an iPhone pricing article published by mybb: "Although neither Vodacom nor MTN publicize it on their websites, there are a myriad of additional contract options for customers looking to get an iPhone 4."
