I don't get how the Vodacom deal can be better than MTN ? . You pay R389 + R275 = R664 . That is for R75 more airtime and but 40Mb less data . On MTN it's R379 , Thats R285 less a month for only R75 less airtime .

Where are you getting your figures from? Vodacom's new deal matches MTN's with pricing at R379pm. Why are you adding R275?

I phoned them this morning wanting to get the R389 deal , the sales rep then asked me if I am aware of the total cost and I said yes , R389 a month then I get The airtime and the data and the phone . She said no , the R389 is for the phone and data only (like a payment plan) , I need to add the R275 for the top 275s package . I will give Vodacom direct a call again , lets see what another sales rep tells me

Update: Just phoned VC Direct again , as soon as I mentioned the iPhone deal she said there is confusion about the package as everyone thinks the R275 is included in the deal . I then mentioned that yeah it is confusing and why are they not matching MTN ? . I was then told that they are looking into that and will have an answer by tomorrow

Confusing, indeed

I phoned them this morning to get my Talk120 upgraded to this (contact was more than 2 months past upgrade date already).

At first, the consultant claimed that I can't get the deal on an upgrade, so I asked for a contract cancellation first, mentioning that I will phone back as soon as the contract has moved to prepaid, so I can port back. After putting me on hold for 2 minutes, he came back saying I can upgrade, no problem.

I confirmed at least 3 times that the total cost per month would be R 379 , and that is the condition under which I agreed to upgrade. I will be VERY UNHAPPY if I get a bill for R 654 per month in stead of R 379 after multiple re-assurances. And that after I already have to wait weeks because I am on backorder.

I was gonna post this as a re-assurance, but after the last guy posted that the consultant told him the opposite, I wonder. Also, if you compare the iphone 4 deal with the iphone 3GS deals on the vodacom site, there is no way you can read it as R 379 + R 275 , as the other opsions specifically break it down with the total in bold at the bottom, in the same place where the iPhone 4's total is listed as R 379. Maybe I should take some screenshots so they don't change it, that way we can make a claim of false advertising if they bite us.
