New WA special?

Interesting bits of the TCs:

Top-Ups are charged at standard rates. (Guess that is R69/GB then?)
This offer is available to existing Web Africa customers.
New top-up rates = R15/GB. Article to follow soon ;)

O yea the 5 days of trouble :D. Can imagine people jumping ship after they have pulled 200gb to sign up for 50gb incase the cable breaks every week :D.

It's 50GB that is usable whenever you want and on whatever you want. I still think that the 384K uncapped accounts are better suited to hammering the connection and then have a fast account like this for the normal stuff. The problem is that Telkom keep charging us the extra ADSL line fee which makes it unattractive.

If this become a permanent offering I can see that Webafrica will Compete well with Afrihiost. But it looks like a special so indicates a once off.

Clarity on how permanent this special is? Is it going to fall away after some time, or are these prices here to stay?

Edit: Sorry, to clarify: "fixed life-time special rates" means we're locked in at this price if we take the special offer?

R799(Titan Complete 3) - R415 (line rental) = R384

R384/50 gigs = R7.68 a gig

Not a bad deal i would say.

It's a pity about the 1 concurrent connection but I understand why. It rules out small businesses that have multiple lines on a single account.

Killa, I was seriously considering the MWeb uncapped. I have thought about it & I just don't download enough to warrant it. I think I'll even battle to use my 25GB's WA package. We'll see.

Thats the one with the line rental included? How does that work though, its up to 10mbit what if Telkom come up with separate pricing for the higher speeds?

If you want raw gigs for downloading, the uncapped accounts are still much better value, but for those who need something stable these accounts are quite impressive.

Webafrica must know something we don't. Clearly 4mbit is gonna be upgraded to 10mbit without much of a price change.

Until a week later when the ISPs change prices again, like WA's 30 gig special that many people threw away ;)

Flat dude uncapped mweb is for people who pull loads of data man, if you are not going to use 25gb then it is a waste. Rather get the WA accounts. If you want to pull 50+gb a month then get mweb.

Yeah great move webafrica. Glad to see you are still willing to compete.

When will we actually see 10mbit speeds?
40% or so of our 4mbit's have already gone up to 10mbit, it depends entirely when Telkom upgrades your DSLAM at your Exchange, and if your line can support it though.
