Yes, I used my backup prepaid WA during 'The Great Outage' and it did work very well even in business hours. Looking forward to get some feedback from users with this account. Now only Telkom Inet needs to respond with something resembling medium/high usage...
 
Seems that they have chased away so many resellers and customers with their pathetic pricing and service that they now have to give the bandwidth away for next to nothing.

I for one will never go back to them even if they paid me to take their bandwidth. Not that my opinion matters. :whistle:

I dunno hey, personally I owe my allegiance to no ISP. I'll go with whoever offers me the best value and quality of service (and by that I don't mean support, but a product that works well).

WA may have been overpriced, but their products work well. Now that they've reduced their prices to something more reasonable, it might be time to reconsider.
 
I've been with WA for two years & have always been happy with their service. You get what you pay for, and while they have not been the cheapest, the service has been reliable.

I was on the verge of going for Mweb uncapped at the end of this month. I go through about 6GB's (International) under normal usage - not big into downloading movies (I have friends who do that). I was beginning to think uncapped ADSL would be a bit overkill for me.

I agree Cavedog! Web Africa need to get a IPC link in JHB,my pings are so much worse on Web Africa than on both SAIX and IS.

That's what MWEB says as well and we know how they shape and throttle.
 
Nice. I can see this appealing to a lot of people. High cap packages are a solid idea in SA...doesn't force users to subsidise the 250gb+ people.

Never noticed any shaping whatsoever on WA accounts. I'm on 384k though so 4mbps might be different.

Yeah that does seem to be the case. Getting an extra IPC will reduce ping by like 30ms. Hardly worth it imo.

Its all the same WA bandwidth so these new accounts should not be technically different to the old ones.

Yeah great move webafrica. Glad to see you are still willing to compete.
