is it just me or is android starting to look much better and more advanced than iphone 4.0?
the new android phones are also more appealing than the the new leaked iphone hd
Nah, if the new iPhone has 960x640 that would be higher rez than any other phone. iPhone OS 4 adds multitasking, arguably the only Android still had. Android is good but iPhone OS is a little bit easier to use and nicer IMO.

All part of their marketing-drive, apple is brilliant in that department. Everybody is now talking about the new Iphone and it does'nt cost them a penny.

agree on the high resolution...but what concerns me is reducing the screen size while increasing the res.
The iphone OS 4.0 s not true multitasking...you cant multitask with any app, its kind of a limited multitasking. ..I think android wins here
The iphone is easier to use and I was skeptical about the android being user friendly but after using my friends desire and x10 the other day.....my concerns are out the window.
The only thing android needs to do is smarten their app store and also have pc access to the store to see what apps are available....iphone wins hand down here.

I must say the HTC desireis stiff competition for the iPhone. However, just wanna say that iPhone OS 4.0 IS true multitasking. In fact it works almost exactly like Android OS's multitasking. You can multitask all the Apps already. Apps remain in memory when closed, until memory runs out.

Not what I understood from engadget:
"The system actually runs the services apps need in the background -- the apps don't need to do them individually, so it's not a "true" multitasking system, but it seems plenty effective. There are seven services: background audio, which allows you to use the standard pop-over iPod controls, Voice over IP, which can receive calls in the background, location services for GPS and social networking (there's an indicator if any service is tracking you), updated push notifications with local notifications, task completion so you can finish things like uploads in the background, and fast app switching, which lets apps sleep and resume instantly."

From what I understood and correct me if i'm wrong, if an app does not come under one of the seven services then you cant multitask.

No, basically when you close an App, it still remains in memory, so switching to it is instantly. However it stops processing, unless it requests some time, or uses one of the services.

Android has a very similar model, they freeze any app which is closed, and they have services too.
