I could not agree more. It's more the general polishedness and smoothness which cannot be matched.

Yet. Lollipop is looking very good, though.

Either way- for top-end smartphone / phablet owners, the market has some pretty compelling options for any requirement.

I've been meaning to ask- 6 or 6 Plus?

This is subjective, though, and easily reversible given the requirements of the user.
Really? I'm still trying to reverse it. Flashed the debloater last night, screwed up the resolution of the phone and needed to wipe. Some reversible experience there.

That's not what I meant... And you should have known, backup before flashing. Rule #1 when it comes to TWRP / CWM zip files.

I believe so, but I doubt that people will be jumping ship for it. I think people enjoy iOS too much, and the only equivalent they could use would be something very similar, which I don't think Android will ever be. I'd be interested in a Nexus in the future, as long as it can offer the complete package including the best camera and camera app, the way iPhone/iOS does it.

6 or 5s 64GB, I reckon. Only too happy with my 5s 16GB. You?

A Nexus 7 2012... I'm still scarred to this day.
Yes, the power can be overwhelming I know - perhaps you need some training wheels, get an Emotion UI driven Huawei first. It will be a very familiar experience coming from the world of fruit.

I know what you meant, but it's simply not true. I doubt that Android will ever be as easy to use, bulletproof and optimised out-of-the-box for the average user as iOS.

I think... hm.. I think I'd actually prefer a Nexus6 over an iPhone 6+, if the camera was up to the same standard. Mainly that's because of the 2560 vs 1080 screen, less wasted phone space and $400 pricing delta. But I do not want a phablet; I didn't want one 4 years ago and I'm no closer to wanting one now.

So did I because I was always tweaking and messing around with stuff. Then I discovered Huawei with EmotionUI...

Like a 5k display on a iMac?

Anything above what's perceivable is overkill. Pixels are visible on QHD iMacs. Most people seem to sit a fair bit closer to PCs than TVs. There's a huge difference between the benefits of screen size to pixel ratio when comparing a phone, PC and TV and their purposes. And there're all sorts of professionals using Macs who might make use of the high resolution. Apple PCs historically have always had the highest resolutions, and I'd imagine there will be good reasons why they went with 5K. There are no good reasons to having huge phone resolutions, nor for TVs until the content is here and only if sitting close enough to benefit from the extra detail. Somehow I don't see many sitting 1.5m from their 50" UHD TVs in order to benefit, which shows how useless it is.

I imagine you already gave the reason for the 5k display on the iMac.

every Jones thinks they need it.

There is nothing out at the moment that uses 5k display so just admit it that Apple used a gimmick in their sales pitch the same way that Samsung is always accused of doing.

Nothing out using 5K is besides the point.

While others have likely already made up their mind, I know I'll be waiting until the new iMac is out until judging further.

Nothing out? You get more real estate - Photoshop, 3D and video applications can use the extra pixel real estate provided by 5K. It's only beneficial on large displays though, otherwise it's definitely a waste.

If you really think a 5k 27" display is pointless, you're barking. It's still only a 218 ppi - well below the iOS retina standard. The distance we sit from a PC screen is much closer than a TV, and the extra resolution will be quite discernible. I'd suggest you could go beyond 300ppi on a monitor and still get a real benefit. The 'point' for it is presumably to allow video editors to produce 4k video content and still have plenty of room for software controls - not to mention that it just looks gorgeous to work on.

Have you ever owned an iPhone?
