Night Owl Questions

About "Buy 1GB , get 1GB Free "

Saw the advertisement on TV last night.
Did not see any info specifying whether this is specific to contract users and not available for prepaid clients.
Phoned through to Vodacom customer care and they told me this is strictly for contract users, is this correct ?
If so , I really think vodacom needs to make it clear to prevent false advertising claims.

No way in hell im signing up for a contract just to get "free" 1GB of data each month. If they can give away 1GB data why can't they have better data prices?

Okay so the offer is not valid to prepaid clients...
I would expect vodacom to amend their ad to make this clear .
I for one was fooled by this ad and disappointed when i realized this.
Please make it clear that this package is not available to prepaid clients in your TV commercials to avoid false advertising claims .

Feel free to report it to Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa.

I have seen some of the adds and have brought this to Marketings attention already.

I haven't seen the advertisement, but unless they were claiming it was for pre-paid I don't think it could be called false advertising.

These things usually end with "terms & conditions apply", in this case one of the conditions is you need to purchase a 1GB Advanced month-to-month bundle, not a once-off bundle, or any other size bundle.

I made a point of taking a photo of the TV advert (link below), the "fine print" is so fine it's NOT legible whatsoever. Personally I find it misleading to the mass public. I have tasked Vodacom with a response on this and their failure to reward other data contract customers with free data during the NightOwl times but their reply in essence is "we're not interested in talking to you, so just bugger off" and that reply @VodacomData is directly from your marketing dept.

After long discussions with Vodacom its clear that YouTube can no longer be set to download a specific video during Nightowl time. You actually have to be awake to start the download process.
