I'm really disappointed in Afrihost.
I requested fibre at my new place back in March, a few days before April so I could be running latest a week into moving in. The process has been nothing short of a joke honestly.
First, understandably, somehow there was an active line/application depending on who on WhatsApp I spoke to.
I was advised by numerous agents that they couldn't do anything about it and I had to speak to the old ISP. They had no record of anything so I was stuck.
Luckily, my lady got someone to call me through Instagram and that was the first person to inform me that I could clear the line with proof of address. So did that and waited. Nothing.
A few days later I called in again and the line was cleared but apparently there was now no request with Vuma to do whatever they needed to do to get the fibre up.
After sorting that out, I waited again and after contacting your agents again, was informed then that an app by Vumatel had been scheduled for the 24th, almost a whole month after my initial application.
So I waited again, and no one showed up on the 24th, so I finally lost it and logged a complaint. Again, no one contacted me so I lost it and called in, and forwarded the complaint to Vumatel as well.
Within an hour of the complaint and call, I got confirmation that my fibre was now connected but while on the call with your agent, found out that I hadn't even been allocated a router and so the connection was all for nought. I was told I had to pay for delivery and wait another 5 to 7 days or, if warehouse allowed it, could come to the office to fetch it (or pay an additional R50 over and above the normal delivery fee if I wanted an express delivery).
So my router was sorted so I came to collect it. Then I got home and followed the instructions to connect the router and guess what, no connection.
When I, again, contacted your agents through WhatsApp, I was asked to switch everything off and on before a ticket was logged with Vumatel.
After hours of nothing, I then called Vuma to ask what was happening and was informed that there was no ticket logged and that my fibre is off so they can't even begin to diagnose the problem.
What is this? Is this the famous service that Afrihost is known for?
