Nintendo Switch Game Recommendations?

Indeed. I was wondering about the emulator and whether it’s worth it. Seems to me it would ruin the Switch experience?

Well it was cause of an emulator that I actually ended up buying a Switch... well, for my wife but still. So emulation is not all bad.

Downloaded BoTW Emulator bundle to see what the fuss about the game was. Mrs loved it so much that I bought her a Switch for Xmas.

Got my first Switch (oled) and am really impressed with the hardware. Screen is beautiful. Playing Botw and have a bunch of games added to my wishlist on Dekudeals.

I'm a PC keyboard and mouse gamer. How tough would a game like Bioshock be with a controller?

Argh, don’t ruin it if you’re planning on buying it

Lol I'm not someone who minds spoilers tbh. I'll experiment a lot. I'm gonna try and see how it is to stream it to my ipad and my TV via Steam Link as well. if i can do that and get 4k/60fps it might be preferable to the Switch, even though Switch has that OLED screen. I'm spoiled for good performance.

If it's THE game, what will you play it on?

I use a hacked V1 Switch. The game runs at 30fps with occasional drops, which is about the same as BOTW.

I believe Ryujinx runs it at ~20fps but many people are reporting frequent crashes.

How bad are the drops? If it's similar to botw performance I'll be pretty happy. Is it still 900p?

Having played for about 2 hours I would say it's almost identical to Botw. However whenever I climb to the top of trees on the yellow sky islands, the fps drops to like 15fps? Imagine Korok Forest levels of stutter. This might be resolved in a day 1 patch though. Yep still 900p.

I don't play any FPS on any console as a rule. Cause I suck at it.

I did notice that I am getting better at controller aiming over time but still leave FPS games for my PC.

What Switch do you have? The OLED model looks like a mission to unlock
V1
I bought it because it could be unlocked. I think I paid R3000 for it. Got a similar model for my daughter at around the same price. I've had mine for 2-3 years or so.

BOTW plays nicely on my grandkids pc on YUZU - even on an older card (970 geforce). I imagine this might work too - just bump the resolution down a bit.

Can someone dm me the d/l link (Link, geddit? :p )? Might fiddle about and see if I can get it going on my sons V1.

Same for me.

But I prefer RPG things on console.

I blame the Gameboy colour and Pokemon for that.

Nothing was so awesome as taking your monz with you and linking up at school.

Shooters are somewhat better with motion controls. Still not as good but it's an improvement over just analog sticks. I played through Metroid Prime Remastered like that, it wasn't a bad experience.

I'm considering overclocking my V1 switch for better performance with Totk. Apparently Nintendo underclocks the Switch (according to Digital Foundry) so overclocking it won't affect the lifespan much.

Just check the cooling. If your fan is running full time I recommend getting good replacement heat paste. I got some decent paste and some pads for the RAM - made a big diffs.

Looking for a cheap dock for the Switch so that we can use it on the small 40" TV as well as the lounge. Without the need to move the dock. OG is like R2K

Found:

Anyone use it or something similar?

I see this too:
Both should work

Sometimes like with The Last Of Us you just had to bite the bullet though, but it's not nearly as fun as with kb/mouse.
