Yeah. Great Direct. Nice variety. And some mega hitters this late in the Switch's life.

Man, the SwitchPro+ will be announced in 2024 and released in 2025, by the way things are going. Super Mario Wonder is easily a 10 mil + seller (now that is low-balling the potential sales). And here I thought Pikmin and DLC was all that Nintendo first party had to release for this year. Altho not a fan, good to see 2D Sonic too.

There's still the other GC Remasters (Baten Kaitos), NES, GBA, SNES, N64, Metroid Prime 4, etc releases...

Why would you want it on xbox? Unless it's remastered but I don't think it is, the Switch is gonna be the way to go for this.

I wish they'd re-release Twin Snakes as well, that was an awesome remake by Silicon Knights.

Is that confirmation of backwards compatibility of Switch2? It makes so much sense. Nintendo is building up such a huge library on Switch, why would they want to go and redo the whole thing again?

Why would you want it on xbox? Unless it's remastered but I don't think it is, the Switch is gonna be the way to go for this.

Information is starting to leak about next gen console. Nintendo stated that they want to ensure that online accounts transfer over seamlessly - I think hinting at backwards compatibility as well.

Now Bobby Kotick apparently said that the power will be approximately PS4/XBone levels.

Keep in mind that might seem weak but it's pretty much the same as the Steam Deck. For something that will draw 5w on mobile (assuming they keep the form factor), getting a PS4 in a handheld would actually be mind-blowing.

It is definitely not reliable. It's a rumour and should only be taken as such. Many of the sites deleted it because it was being criticized because a lot of people don't really understand it.

The point is just that Switch 2 rumours are starting to get more prevalent and this is usually the case when there's something real on the horizon.

Worth keeping in mind that the performance numbers of handheld consoles aren't so easy to measure because you don't have a consistent wattage and there are different power profiles, so peak performance figures are pretty misleading. Rog Ally underperforms the Steam Deck at low watts (~5w or so), for example due to optimizations of the chipset.

I used Docked numbers for the mobile units.

So in handheld mode, all 3 would be lower.

Further reading up on this seems like it was mentioned in the acquisition case of the century (tm)... so maybe there is some truth in it [surely no one will lie in a court case]. Anyways, not really interested in the physical grunt of the system (it will be better, esp with the rumoured DLSS). I just want faster loading times and BC.

I think the Switch 1 is a bit too weak. Like TOTK drags constantly and the resolution drops every time you use Ultrahand. And ports of newer games are just horrible. It's great for older ports like Portal and first party games like Pikmin 4 look great but yeah I definitely would buy next gen Switch early.

I thought the new Final fantasy for ps5 would rock the boat in JP, but it was quite underwhelming. Granted it was one of the best showings for ps5 yet... We need some drastic attacks to the behemoth that will never die. Let's see if next week shows evidence that the phoenix down actually worked.
