No appeal to VANS ruling

Hmmm why is it that Poison Ivy and Paris Mashile went on about 600 [or was it 300] VANs digging up roads etc if only 27 licensees will have their VANs licences converted to IECNS licenses???

Surely this would be grounds for perjury charges to be brought against Poison Ivy and Paris Mashile???
Interesting that Altech's licence conversion doesn't appear to be receiving the same priority - especially when the court has ruled that Altech is entitled to an immediate VANs -> IECNS licence conversion, is this not contempt of court on the part of !CASA???

Africa can & only WILL be Connected By WIRELESS

This ruling affects a lot more than just wireless.

Africa can & only be Connected BY WIRELESS, Due to the Fixed line operators not investing enough in Fibre to home and rural areas not being connected. It is predicted that more than 90% of Africa's population will be connected to the internet Via Wireless TEchnologies.

We are at a great dis-advantage because the incumbents have ALL the SPECTRUM.

ICASA NEEDS TO RE-POSSESS SPECTRUM as a matter of URGENCY !

apparently icasa have been approaching incumbents to enquire as to current usage...

the DoC will decide in the next few days whether they wish to appeal...

I spoke to the minister this morning at the Telkom AGM. She will be issuing a statement this afternoon (Monday). Unfortunately, she didn't want to pre-empt the announcement by telling me what she has decided. :-(

Seems Poison Ivy is still full of hot air, and doughnuts.

Apparently they are awaiting sign-off on the statement from Lyndall Shope-Mafole, the director-general, who is ill.
I always wondered if Stalin-Mafole was Poison Ivy's de facto puppeteer, now I'm wondering if Poison Ivy is able to find her way to the loo without Stalin-Mafole's permission.

I probably wouldn't be surprised if the DoC decided to appeal the ruling [sadly], but I expect any statement from the DoC will be a bunch of clap-trap saying how misunderstood the DoC is blah blah blah, and probably a veiled attempt at getting back at the judge...

both ;)
they have to lodge appeal docs (not issue a statement) before close of play tomorrow (Friday 19.09) and word is that the DG's days do not extend too far into the future...

<shock_horror>What's that you say, Zuma doesn't sing to Stalin-Mafole's tune in the shower?</shock_horror>
