1. In which mode phone is operating? LTE or 3G? Phone is very likely not compatible with LTE TDD 2300MHz used by TM.
2. Are you registered to TM network or MTN roaming?
3. Which bundle have you loaded: generic (romaming) or cheaper TM-only?
Answer these questions it might help.

1. Operating on 3G
2. I think it is on roaming at the moment, however i am in full coverage on the TM network
3. I have loaded both TM only bundle as well as roaming bundle

ps: i have another 8ta sim in my galaxy s4, and that works perfect on the TM network in the same area

Disable the LTE switch because the iPhone 5 does not support TDD 2300MHz.

That means you're on an older version of iOS which rules out my suggestion. :(

My next guess is then...upgrade to the very latest iOS. Also, if you get a carrier update pop-up, be sure to accept.

Now I'm at a loss. I guess TM already block the LTE switch then with their SIM card.

What about your APN? Try reset your network settings but note before and after APN value.

Customer service consultants are just as baffled, APN settings are correct, tried resetting network settings also, still nothing.

Did you try move SIM to Galaxy? If works, your phone might need carrier upgrade.

You can normally trigger a carrier update by going to Settings > General > About and chilling in that screen for a bit.

Just tried the sim card in my galaxyS4, and to my surprise i cannot get any data connectivity on there either:confused:
double checked, the data bundles are loaded on.
maybe this is a faulty sim?

anyway, thanks for all the replies guys. will have to go back to the telkom store
