Firstly I have a PSB data promo card(WORKS strictly on Telkom Mobile infrastructure) and upon arrival there was no throughput whatsoever, it didn't bother me cos I did my homework before coming here as a family members needs internet access.

Upon arriving in this small town*where everyone knows each others business*, went to a few retailers and upon doing an investigation discovered 3 retailers here are selling Telkom Mobile DATA sim cards R49 (200 meg x 12). Just disappointed that retailers would do anything to coin in a buck whereby there is no SERVICE on their PSB DATA in this town.

Have you tried putting the sim card in a 3G router with an external aerial? If there is even the faintest signal this setup will almost certainly sort you out.

I am disappointed that there is no presence of them in this town.

Roaming works perfectly on my SIM SONKE displays MTN.

CELL C reception is definitely working in this town with MTN and Vodacom. Now to try and source a giganite card or alternatively will advice them to purchase the WIRELESS service (WISP) for R500 per month uncapped 1 meg.

Location of town - before entering the town you are welcome with several potholes and there is noway to avoid them.. It was a slow drive to enter here 30 KM/h, fortunate didn't have to change a tyre but several motorist did for speeding at high velocity.

There is even a sign that says : Don't speed in excess of 80 / 120 straight after that sign there is huge pothole in both lanes, no way to avoid

If you drive fast enough you will fly over potholes. :)

hahaha dude!

Conclusion: Telkom apparently went bankrupt in this town - they make use of WISP for internet+3G mtn, cell c and vodacom.

Head Office removed the data packs from their shelves.
