Hi all

I have recently bought a new graphics card. The Sapphire HD 3870. When i plug my monitor, the Samsung P2350 into it and boot my computer, all the fans work, including the graphics card fan. But i get no image on my monitor.

I know the graphics card works because i have tried it on my friends computer. And the monitor works when i plug it into my onboard graphics card.
Please can someone help me with this.

Thanks

Either your Mobo is buggered, try another card in the PCIe slot. Or the boot device is set to the onboard display, in which case you should change the order in your BIOS.

Did you plug the extra power connector in?

What power supply (Wattage and brand) do you have?

I have tried another card. And the order in the BIOS is set to PCIEx

I have a 450W no name brand power supply.
I also tried my ASUS 8600GT which requires no power connector, and that also doesnt work.

My ASUS worked a few days ago, but then sold my monitor, then i have to use a cheap CTR one, so i took my graphics card out. Now i got my new monitor, and it doesnt work with the graphics card.

check the monitor is set to accept the current input (some have a digital and analogue connection) it should scan through the various options, but try that.

try using the onboard GPU as well.

It does scan through digital and analogue. But it doesn't pick it up. Then sometimes it says 'check signal cable'
The on-board GPU works fine. I'm using it now. But as soon as I plug in my graphics card. No image

+1 for change to PCIe in the BIOS.

You'll probably also need to uninstall the previous graphics drivers (using the onboard graphics), power off, plug in the new card, power on, go into BIOS and setup the graphics to PCIe (default should be set to onboard already) then let your Operating System pick it up again as new hardware. Follow the install guide for your card and install latest updated drivers. Works every time.

The only info i know about my motherboard is Product : P4M890-8237
Its all PC Wizzard gives me

Thats all it says on the MB. There is just one sticker with the product number

It seems to be a Foxconn board. Can you see any of the following numbers stamped on the board:

· P4M8907MA-RS2H
· P4M8907MA-KRS2H
· P4M8907SA-RS2H
· P4M8907MB-2.0-RS2H
· P4M8907MB-RS2H

P4M890 is a Via chipset. Somewhere on the motherboard there should be the brand. Could you perhaps upload a photo of it?
