No International! Again

This is just ridiculous... I can hardly access anything (Even Mybroadband struggles and Google.co.za works some of the time), but facebook works just fine. Last time Seacom was down and all connections were routed through SAT-3 (Or something like that) hardly anything worked (including Google.co.za), but facebook was just fine. Why do they give so much priority to facespace instead of giving that priority to a site like Google???

Nothing to do with priority, Facebook is run via a local server which is why you are able to access it even when international is down. Don't ask me how it works.

International popped on again here. But very slow. Afrihost

Screamer is working perfectly. IS is now going here, but incredibly slow...like a snail.

Getting tired of this. How is the latency and that on Mweb/WebAfrica? Scared it might be worse than Afrihost (for gaming and that). I'm on 512k uncapped.

What a fail. No word on when this is gonna be fixed ?

Just switched over to my Web Africa account (from Afrihost) and its working fine now...

What backbone are Web Africa using?

I can't waaaaaait for the Weekend to beg........END!!!

Seacom is a festering pile of SCHIT I tell you.

SEACOM Failure
There has been a general failure on the SEACOM circuit. We have switch all international routing to our backup circuit and as a result there will be increased latency connecting to international sites.

Update: We have been advised by Tata that there seems to be a fibre cut between Marseille and London on initial investigations.
Update: We have been in contact with our Service Manager at Tata, We have been informed that this link should be restored within the next hour.
The link was broken due to a provider in France carrying out a cable upgrade without notifying any of their clients.
Cybersmart NOC

Fsck Seacom & those frogs!

Crawling at 6kB/s here...

Jesus Christ Seacom is the most useless cable ever launched!

Anyone local got NTFS undelete for me??? farking deleted the wrong folder (Shift+delete) and now cant download from the site!

AFRIHOST POST

Can't you undetele it with NTFS Undelete? :D

Mweb uncapped is suddenly blazingly fast when it runs, at the moment I'm down. Web Africa is just plain down, and Afrihost is... Well nothing new there.

Is this localized at all? Somehow our Noordhoek branch has internet and hasn't felt the effects of this at all but Hout Bay has nothing.
