No International! Again

So glad I cancelled my MWEB account - though I'm actually close to demanding a refund for downtime during my one month's calendar notice. Worst service ever.

Hahaha, Opera has just told me I'm on a slow network and according to Windows Network and Sharing Center I have local only connectivity :/
 
Ok, it seem IS is up again. I hope it will stay up, so I am off to go to do some work on a forum. Now I have to play catch up. Lol
 
Guys, what we need to do is... When international conectivity is back up, lets cache the ENTIRE internet locally. Then we won't have to worry about Seacomm again...

Mweb uncapped is suddenly blazingly fast when it runs, at the moment I'm down. Web Africa is just plain down, and Afrihost is... Well nothing new there.

Is this localized at all? Somehow our Noordhoek branch has internet and hasn't felt the effects of this at all but Hout Bay has nothing.

Im on Mweb uncapped. Guess the cap has been "unned". It's dead. Only local.

Do you know how big the internet is? :erm:

Almost 500 exabytes.

1024MB = 1 Gigabyte
1024GB = 1 Terabyte
1024TB = 1 Petabyte
1024PB = 1 Exabyte

500EB = 524,288,000TB or 536,870,912,000GB. That's a staggering 262,144,000 (over a quarter billion!) 2TB hard drives:p

Well I'm on Mweb uncapped as well and my download speeds have never been this good. My megaupload files are flying via Jdownloader :D

I hope it remains like this :)
 
Webafrica backup kicks in when Afrihost goes down...recommend having a prepaid account with them..prepaid, rolls month to month..
 
Mine back up, will see for how long. Really seacom needs to sort these problems out there is something happening every other day causing us users to be without the service we pay for.

Afrihost Still down as of 13:50 and they still have no clue on what is the cause as per their staff and website , moved over to WebAfrica account and it is working perfectly, will be moving all my clients accounts (+- 100GB) back to WebAfrica permanently @ the end of the month, buy buy Afrihost.. WA is better in a realm basis @ R25 / GB - http://www.webafrica.co.za/reseller/realms_on_allocation/

Works out to R27.166 per GB
 
SAT-3 is still fine. No explanation from MWeb as to why none of their consumer packages try to use this route when SEACOM-SEA-ME-WE-4 fails. Presumably business users get priority...

Ah, MWeb international seems to be working at 13h55. Hope it stays up...
