No International?

Haha Bing.com is also down they have this message on their site:

who pulled the plug?!
Someone did and now our servers are down.
Our team is working hard to plug them back in and restore service as quickly as possible.
We know you want to get back to searching. Please check back soon.

So what do we do now? Go for a walk on the beach? Smell flowers? Communicate with other human beings face-to-face!? ;)

For me its Go for a walk around Joburg, smell the pollution, and communicate with hand gestures to the taxi drivers.....

eww.

But yea, unless I'm completely misinformed, I thought Afrihost was using both Seacom and SAT 3? What gives? And whatever happened to Cybersmart getting onto Seacom? I know there was that whole "scandal" with the contractual ping to London or w/e but is that just the end of it? I just assumed that the contract would be reworked and Cybersmart would be on SAT 3 until the issue could be resolved. Right about now 300 ms sounds a lot better than carrier pidgeon ms....

Just got the following from our IS account manager

Telkom has a power failure on their SAT 3 termination in Abujan, this is affecting all customers connecting via these links, this includes all ISP’s
Telkom and IS engineers are in the process of cutting all traffic over to the restoration paths. Depending on which happens first (power or cutover) traffic will normalise directly after

No Intl. on Mweb (IS) in Maitland, Cape Town, session open at Barrack Str.

aaargh!!!!

Webafrica is down down down. And you guys say Afrihost is too. How about Axxess? What's the point of having 3 accounts on different service providers when none of them work?

AAAAAAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!

This should be a lesson to you that all ISP's go through Telkom...

New It department

This is really sucking. Our building is down and we can't work without internet.

I just forwarded this thread to our IT department as they did not know what was going on

Dude if your IT department did not know what was going on until you forwarded them this thread then maybe you should look at hiring a new IT department.

I have a bunch of long range pigeons I am willing to rent for the day if anyone wants to carry on working. They are equiped with 1 gig memory sticks and are faster then the neton a normal day anyway :)

My work is dependent on international access. I'm a technical writer and all my sources are on technet! Oh well, guess I get to sit in my cubicle and draw all day :D

I have internet

I have international internet, in CPT, and using a vodacom business ADSL account.

I wonder who VB uses for their upstream.

My international seems to work sporadically. I've been able to access my gmail account, facebook and a couple of other international sites but it's taken multiple attempts. I hope they get this sorted out soon but god only knows with Telkom.
