No Man's Sky

NMS, the gift that keeps on giving. Amazing amount of upgrades in this update, and again all for free. Most other studios would charge full retail price for something like this.
Downloaded the update last night, still need to check it out. They are putting out updates every 2 months or so which is pretty amazing. New expedition coming up too.

I still haven't properly checked out all the recent new additions, like building a ship. Maybe I must start a new save to see everything from the beginning.

What, it's already out?! Thought it was just a preview of what's to come.

More details of latest update

I've never played it. Does it also get repetitive and boring. Same thing over and over again.
I think there's a lot to do before you get bored and the updates keep adding new things. They also release time-based expeditions which are fun, especially to play with friends. I tend to pick it up again when there's a new update. They usually discount the game when an update is released (currently R199 on Steam) or check it out on Game Pass if you have it.

Oh nice to hear that it opens another save. I might get on it tonight. I turned off multiplayer also (PS) because I did not want to worry about other players whilst i learnt the game. How is the multi player aspect / experience if left on/active? Do you encounter random players? can you interact etc

@Anelist replying here so I don't derail the other gaming thread. I haven't really tried to interact with other players, just see them as I run by them! I mostly play with a friend so we chat on Discord while we play. The new expedition starts off with shooting bugs quite early, when you collect your ship. I managed to mostly avoid them and then spent ages jumping around systems to trade to make units and then get nanites for upgrades. You don't need to rush into the expedition just yet as it's only the first week it's been available but easy enough to check out if you're curious.

Color me impressed, Nintendo Switch also got 5.0.0

Does not look as good as other versions but still got all the weather and cloud updates as well.

This video looks useful for any new players wanting to try an expedition. Probably best to learn some of the basics before you start. The video looks at the latest Liquidators expedition.
