No more 40D...

That sucks man :(...

Sorry to hear that, but as you say, its justification to get a new MBP and Camera....

Man that sucks  - my insurance just came through on my 50D and lenses :)

I would really love to catch someone doing that to me...

Yeah, I've been pretty paranoid about backups. Even if I didn't have the old drive, I have a second external drive at home (the old 3.5" FW one) that has all the important stuff on.

On the bright side, at least now I have justification for a new MBP and camera :D
Are you going to stick with canon?

I lost mine yesterday - our house was burgled.

I feel your pain ;)

Are you going to stick with canon?

Probably. I played with a friend's D200 or D300 last night (can't remember which) and although it's a nice camera, I find the controls counter intuitive and confusing, even after getting used to where everything is. I just don't like it.

Besides, I still have my film body, EOS compatible flash, cables etc, and the 50mm, 70-300mm and 10-20mm lenses. Although I might just pass that one along to my sis and go for the 5D already.

Won't be soon though, the laptop is more important.

Crime happens everywhere. But unlike the times back in the old country, I didn't have a gun or knife shoved in my face this time.
That's why I wondered if it had been tube related.

Because it was or wasn't gun/knife related? In two years I have had absolutely no problems in the tube or overland trains despite sometimes sharing space with some really creepy/dodgy-looking creatures.

Glad to hear it. :)

KJ you find anything on the CCTV footage?

Not yet, the CCTV is handled by an external company, and they phoned me about an hour ago to ask where I was sitting, description of myself, what to look for, etc, so they're on it.

Aah that sucks! Reminds me I must insure my stuff too.

Hope it comes right one way or another.

Nice.... here in SA you 10-1 would have just heard: "Sorry nê".

Hope they catch or atleast ID the person.

Good luck mate.

Nope, passed it on to my dad. Still have my film bodies though. I just don't have any inspiration to use them at the mo :(
