No more 40D...

Glad they caught the miscreant.

The weak pound is really kicking my butt these days. :o I've asked my mom to pick up a Nikon for me today when she goes through Heathrow . . . unless that price has skyrocketed too.
Changing sides are we? ;)

Point and Shoot only (P6000). Sure it's got its drawbacks but it has one feature that the others in the same class dont have - built in GPS.

dSLR wise I'll never switch from Canon. I like my glass too much to do that. :)

Yeah me too. Doesn't help that I moved into a flat's that's twice as expensive as the place I lived at last year. It adds up quite a bit!

Glad I'm not alone :D

Today a P&S. Tomorrow a bidge camera, and before you know it, you have two D3X bodies swinging from your neck :p

Having looked long and hard at the Nikon bodies recently, the D700 in particular, I'm really guttered at their lack of variety. Specific Canon lenses that I'm interested in, Nikon just has no equivalent for (not even via third parties). The EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM and EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM in particular interests me, but also the really excellent but comparatively cheap primes such as:

EF 100mm f/2.0 USM £378 vs £788 for the comparative Nikon
EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM £643 vs £1088 for Nikon's one stop slower 200mm f4.

Never I say . . . never! Actually I dont ever see myself owning a bridge camera either. The P6000 is just for S's and giggles. :)

Was an official release for the SX1 do shoot RAW + a CHDK for the SX10 to do it also if that was your turnoff of the Canons Bwana

I'm a huge canon fan (as many will confirm) but the the P6000 has that built in GPS and that's what persuaded me.

EDIT - I've just received confirmation that it has been purchased - unfortunately it is enroute to the US right now . . .
