Each to their own, they have killed off some very successful products

Works with Nest is one such recent item that is in the process of being killed.

It sucks for us. Agree. But they are not a charity. If they don't think it is financially beneficial to them they probably will let it go. Sometimes they merge projects with other projects. Either way, I guess they can do what they want. Hopefully another company steps in and fills the gap or demand for the product.

If it was merely that I would wholeheartedly agree, but I've noticed many publications have started reporting on Googles weird product killings, and how its harming the brand... especially in the Enterprise space.
 
Well Z was coming up anyway.
