"No Service" constantly :(

Hello

I moved from a Vodacom contract onto Prepaid at the beginning of the month. Since then it's just been an absolute disaster (more so than when I was on contract). It is always displaying "No Service" and this can go on for hours unless I turn my phone off and back on, but then it only lasts for a few minutes before reverting back to "No Service" - and this happens in various areas, no matter where I am.

Can anyone help? It's driving me mad and I can never use my phone.

I'm on Vodacom

That happens every few minutes if I don't disable LTE/WCDMA.

So shove your phone to 2G like its 1999 and enjoy being able to make calls.

If you do turn on 3G to use the net or something, then just remember to turn it back off before your family thinks you have gone missing.

Vodacom service been abysmal! constantly dropping calls all over ESPECIALLY as we drive past Vodaworld! Just got Telkom LTE at office where we have been complaining about no 3G, its superfast, constant....apparently Vodacom has no LTE in this area, and even with a booster, the 3G is slower, intermittent and unreliable....

Always hated Telkom but am really impressed with their LTE!

What is the exact model of handset and in which areas do you see this?

I'm having the same problem recently. I'm On vodacom prepaid and using an HTC One. I constantly lose service. It's been like this for the past few weeks and it doesn't appear to discriminate in terms of location (Braamfontein, Parkhurst, Germiston, Hyde Park, Crown Mines).

The loss of service wasn't as frequent during the last few months of 2013. It would perhaps happen once or twice a day where I have to re-enter my pin or switch to airplane mode and back but now it's at least more than 10 times a day. The last week or two has been particularly bad.
