No signal on rain SIM

Double check that the SIM is visible when you sign in to your account on the Rain portal. Also make sure your APN settings are set to rain.
If all else fails, phone them and ask them to check if there's something wrong on their end. I know when I got my SIM it didn't work at my office in Umhlanga but as soon as I hit the freeway to Durban CBD it grabbed a signal.
In the rain portal it shows that its active and ive sent the apn to rain still shows no service and i can't call them they no longer takes telephonical queries ive emailed them they haven't replied its over 24hrs now

Did you check the coverage map to see if you have coverage?
Try restart the phone it is in and then walk around with it outside. Can also try going to different areas and see if it isn't a signal issue.
I know for whatever reason, my office blocks signals coming in and going out but as soon as I'm on the street outside the signal is basically full.

Hi guys. I have the same problem with my rain SIM received it on Tuesday and we do have coverage because my neighbour has a rain SIM and his is work perfectly. Mine does not want to work no matter what I do. I'm using a Tenda 4G router. Any suggestions?

If the sim was registered and activated, please check that apn setting are maintained on the router.

Check your APN, had something like this yesterday
when I changed SIM cards between phones, looks like its broken, but when you put in the APN it starts working.

Thanks got it working. But now I got extremely slow speeds even if I have full signal.IMG-20200803-WA0039.jpg

Try go to the Rain website, sign in to the portal, then go to your SIM card and click on "Optimise". Type in your address there and make sure it is correct. Once that is done, it should show you which station it is connecting to for the best connection.

Jip. Plus they don't even respond to emails sent via the website. So Jip this is giving them very bad rep even hello Peter.

They do respond to emails. They've been responding to me every time I asked them for something but overall, Rain 4G isn't great unless you're in JHB. Just go spend the extra 50 odd Rand a month and get an MTN data SIM. Get minimum of 20 meg down basically anywhere in the country.

Do they also have uncapped

All of their plans are uncapped.....they have 1 that's R250 for unlimited data between 11pm and 6pm and another that's R480 for unlimited data all day/night.

I'm 0.99km away from one of the 4G towers

I'm 0.75 kilometres away from the one I'm connected to and I still have horrible download speeds. It states that it will connect to the one that it has the best connection to and NOT necessarily the closest one to you (so you could live on the same plot of land as one of the stations and it would connect to 1 a kilometre away instead).

i have the R480 one. Ok cool. i had speeds of 10-15mbs up and download and then when it hit 01/08/2020 goodbye to those speeds. i drove to the tree 4g towers we have the farthest one is 1.50km (0.99/1.25/1.50 as the crow flies) and the speed stays the same.

Yeah, not too sure what's going on with that then. I know there's a contact on MyBroadband for Rain. You could try message them and see.
