Nokia 3 / 5 / 6 - Are local operators adding bloatware or is it coming out as vanilla android like elsewhere in the world?

I do suspect that too. I was at 2 Vodacom shops yesterday. They dont even have an idea of the release date.
Cell C has it - going to try and view it there.
CNA has it on their list but unsure of release date.

I would not be at all surprised if the local operators all add their rubbish to the phones when they are released.

I would be curious how many people would look at a class action lawsuit for unwanted content on their phone that they cannot remove?

Even if they disable and hide it, it still tries to update and use data

Of course you can remove it. Just flash another ROM.

A class action lawsuit will never hold in court

CellC and Telkom usually do not add bloatware.
What I do like is that the Nokia site does list local retailers for their phones (when buying it straight-up). https://www.nokia.com/en_za/phones/android-phones

Vodavom does it by custom firmware or like on the Huawei Y6 2018 which came with bloatware programmed on the SIM. They are added shortcuts, not real apps. You can delete all.
