Nokia 5800 crashes- installed apps gone

Hi

Any other 5800 XM owners (20.x) with this problem?
As I expected, some nothing from my SP is "quality" enough as a gift.
My GF's first smartphone for her birthday, and what do we get?

Installed applications dissapearing after a crash.
They cannot be uninstalled, they cannot be reinstalled...

Please dont tell me to reset the phone...

I asked about the V21. firmware thats been out in ASIA.
I contacted customer care.

The reply, is a vague one, which does not make sense at all:

What? Nokia 5800 XM is not approved for use on Vodacom? Why did they sell it to me then?
