NOKIA 5800 Irritations!!

I lost my Stylus today, and seeing as i was one of the unlucky ones who didn't receive the back-up, i need a new one. Anyone know where i can get a hold of one?

All the new 5800s dont come with styluses or pouches.
Not sure why Nokia did that...

Well losing mine today pissed me off to no end. I always use it, and it's such an inconvenience. I managed to find a place called expansys where i ordered 3 for 70bucks. Not too bad i guess. They said they should have stock in about 2 weeks though. Sigh.

So far this phone has very little irritations for me. I received the phone yesterday and there are a few disadvantages of the phone and tiny things that irritate me but I think overall it's a great phone.

As for the Stylus/pouch/stand problem, the Vodacom shop in Greenpoint is taking down the contact details of every customer who didn't receive a pouch or stand (I still received the extra stylus) and has ordered them from Nokia. I didn't even have to ask about the pouch or stand, I was immediately told there was a problem and steps have been taken to rectify it.

I want to know about the 5800's touch screen. I like the phone much, but I'm not used to the touch screens. I dont write sms's while driving, but with my phone now, I can almost write without looking to the screen, cause I can feel when I pressed the buttons, and so on. Now I know that the 5800 has qwerty, which I'm not used to.
Now I want to know, is the touch screen also "dead" like a gps device screen ( I have a nuvi200), I mean you must look at the screen to see what you type as you type it, or can one "feel" when you pressed a key?
And will I be able to press the keys without the stick, with my fingers? I dont have big hands, so can it be done, cause I dont think I'll like to use the stick all the time.
And lastly, wont the screen scratch and become "dof" (afrikaans) after a while? Like my gps screen?
Thanks a lot.

I don't think you'll get away with not having to look at your screen when it comes to typing but with the qwerty keyboard, I find that if you touch in the general direction of the key (in one exception, being the e and w leters) you will get it right. And that is with thumbs. Personally I use predictive text but could prove difficult for you as you may want to type in afrikaans and/or elglish. If you don't abuse the phone and touch it with anything other than your fingers, the stylus or the plectrum and possibly go out and buy yourself a phone cover (The real thing, not a pouch made by Nokia) then your device will be fine!

Okay yes I understand, the qwerty will make it difficult to type without checking on the screen. The other day I asked a guy at mtn about the phone, and one thing he mentioned is that you can actually "feel" when you have pressed a "key". He said it is some kind on vibration, dunno if it is so? If it is "dead" like a gps screen, I think I'll pass on this phone.

Yes it vibrates when you press the keys.
Have to warn you... the phone vibrates not the area where you pressed. The vibration comes from the top righthand corner because thats where the vibrate motor is, it vibrates there regardless whether you press a key or receive an sms.

Just got my extra stylus, pouch and music stand from MTN. Glad Nokia came through

I've just noticed a problem after I updated my firmware... The flashing notification light flashes twice (Like pulses twice) instead of one long pulse and it doesn't go off after I've read the new message. Does anyone else have this problem?

I dnt know why no one mentioned zagg full body protection its about R250 and there are dudes that sell it in JHB. Supposedly never scratches.

full 360 rotation would be nice
task manager lacking
browser needs to cache
envelope not going away after opening mail or messages is annoying
more options for main screen where I want the shortcuts to appear and have more than four shortcuts
side comment an absolutely must have app lightsabre

turn off the breathing light?

Does it breath? or is it on all the time?

It'll be off and then I'll receive a message or get a missed call and then instead of breathing to notify me I have somthing, it flashes twice on and off. Once I've cleared the missed call or new message notification by viewing the caller or the sms, the light continues to flash twice even if I'm using the phone.
