I was looking for a good program to track the phone in case it was lost or stolen and found this:

It sounds excellent and I'm sure it's worth the money. But are there other programs worth considering here?

For showing off the phone, there's a few simple apps like OffScr's Angle Touch, the built-in racing game, and Photo Browser also does a nice iPhone impersonation. You could also consider converting a video and using that to show off (That always works nicely for me - lots of wows there).
 
So my memory card is screwed again...

Seemed to happen after i installed some of my normal apps (after i did a hard reset)

I restarted my phone because the Youtube app woudn't open. It then came up and showed "Preparing Memory Card", then it said something about untrusted software on the memory card and that i should install it with Application Manager.

I got prompted with the option when accessing the default one, its got twitter and fb support. Looks pretty sleek
 
Does anyone know if there is any easy way to move a bulk of sms'es from a spesific contact to a personally created folder under the messages menu or otherwise a method to do it via pc?
 
I've been using the N97 mini this week while my 5800 is gone for repairs and I'm wondering what's all the fuss about. I love my 5800. Half the price and almost half the weight. It's got eveything except the the slide out keyboard, which isn't that great.
 
What kind of repairs? They covered by the warranty? I need to get my screen looked at. Let us know how long it takes so I can pick a time when I don't need my phone...
 
Nokia at Vodaworld are retards. My 5800 was jinxed but I still love it.

I had 3 intermittent problems:
1.) Call Quality was terrible; can't hear anything on some calls. NOT THE SIGNAL.
2.) Auto rotate doesn't work all the time
3.) It get's stuck on the Full Qwerty keyboard.

Problems started about 3 days after buying it. I thought the call quality was because of the signal. Auto-rotate wasn't a major thing and I was too lazy. Damn am I kicking myself. LESSON, if you have a problem with your phone during the first 7 days, take to be swopped with a new one.

So I took to in to Nokia Vodaworld in December (bought in August) and all repairs covered by warranty.
1. First time they insist a software update will solve the problem. I told them it won't but they insist. Anywhoo, It didn't. Waiting time - 1 hour
2. Second time, they said it might go to high level repairs if they couldn't fix it themselves. They fixed it without sending it to High Level Repairs. They replaced the microphone. They assured me it was fixed as it passed through QUALITY CONTROL. It didn't. Waiting time - 2 Days
3. Third time. They sent it to High Level to be repaired. Again it was fixed. It didn't. Waiting time - 3 Days

2 weeks since initial visit and 5 trips to Midrand and still not sorted. Now I'm f*@king ticked off. The only saving grace was the traffic wasn't bad cos Joburg is quiet in December. So I dropped it off for the 4th time. I phone and they assured me the phone would be replaced. When I arrive (with box and accessories) they tell me their definition of replace the phone is replacing the PC board and they have to send it it to High level repairs. It will take 2 to 3 days, I should phone in 3 days. So after 3 days, I phone them and some arrogant doofus tells me that it will be ready in 3 weeks because the shipment is delayed from Finland. He infers that I shouldn't complain because it says on the receipt/form that the waiting time is 2 to 14 days and that they are replacing the pc board which costs more than a new phone (??? Go figure ???). After screaming at this tool, I speak another twit. I tell him that they should have had the decency to phone me and tell me it would they didn't have stock of the pc board and the shipment was delayed. He complains that it's a different department and they don't know. blah blah blah. I say fine, let me pick up my phone and when the parts arrive I'll drop it off again. HE SAYS NO THAT CAN'T BE DONE BECAUSE IT'S TOO COMPLICATED - different depts. and sh*t. If he was in front of me ... So I tell him I don't care. I demand that they to deliver my phone to me and pick it up when the parts arrive. He says he'll speak to his manager. Calls me back and says it will be ready by next week Thursday which is tomorrow (07/01). So 4th waiting time is 2 weeks. Hopefully.

They don't have the decency to phone to tell you it will take longer.

It better be ready and it better working properly.

So my advice to you is to get them to check parts availability before you book your phone in.

I'm not unreasonable. I have no problem with the repair times, but they should have diagnosed the problems properly, at least by the second visit. The first visit should have been a repair, not a software update. The second visit should have been a high level replacement of the pc board. And they should have told me they didn't have stock of the pc board. While I was in the queue, the other guy told a customer with an E75 not to book his phone because of some shipping delay.

Can a software update fix an intermittent auto-rotate problem? I doubt it. It's probably faulty hardware.
 
Has anyone else had problems sometimes with not hearing the person on the other side of a phone call?

I have had it twice now and must say it is rather frustrating, does anyone know of a fix maybe?

@carbon fibre, i know your frustration i can not understand why they can't just work in harmony its a constant fight.

It happens to me on certain calls but seems to be intermittent - I suspect some of it can be blamed on the network.

Its a definite that the networks are the majority of the issue as the networks are certainly not handling the network load, isn't that what ICASA has been trying to get them under the cosh so that the problems are sorted?

I get the same problem on a E71, 2620 and Samsung, again intermittent
