Nokia 6110 Navigator

Fring should work sweetly if you've got a good signal. I haven't actually used fring - but the people you're phoning must also be online, true?
Then theres also that sh#t in the T&C of MTN that allow them to charge you R25/meg for voip data - VC is cool with voip though

Hi all, been doing some searching and found the following.

There are loads of other tools, POIs, etc and haven't tried them yet, but it appears you can download loads of stuff for loads of different GPS units including LMX for the 6110 Navigator.

Once you have downloaded them you can follow the instructions in the following link to install, set up etc.

The garmin poi's seems more complete, with 392 "fixed cameras" , and some other hazards aswell (gps-data-team has 381 cameras), but your have to convert it first with GPSPOI (the link posted by Highlander)
You can also add both files and remove the duplicates with it.

It works great btw.

I've converted the garmin fixed and mobile 'hazards' (cameras) to the lmx format required by the phone.
If you need help with the process or loading them on the phone - let me know.

Is it possible to copy the SA map from one 6110 to another? I'm having problems downloading the map from the route 66 shop.
 
Not sure about Autopage, but I've phoned all the MTN Connect stores in Gauteng about once a week, since November, and none of them have stock.

I'm due for an upgrade. Funny enough if you sign a new contract with MTN Direct you'll get the phone, they have stock.

There's no hope in getting that phone soon.

Ozz001, thanks for the PM with the links and instructions. I followed them and the camera POI's works great!
 
Got mine yesterday, great phone! I was due for an upgrade and MTN has told me the last two months that they do not know when they will recieve stock. So all I did was to phone 808 and tell them I would like to cancell my contract as I cannot get the phone that I want. 90 minutes later I got a call back that said they found one for me. Don't take their ****, just threaten to take your good money to vodacom and they'll jump!
