Is that the non-vodafone branded version?
I can only wonder how long the branded version was actually going to take. :confused:

:o Typo on the release date. :o

The 'vanilla' 6680 is scheduled for 1st of June, not July as stated above.

The V-Live! 6680 will be a week or four later.

You'll be able to upgrade the standard software to V-Live!
 
So yeah been following the forums for quite awhile now... Damn waiting for the Nokia 6680 is turning out quite frustrating hey??? Phoned around this morning, Fourways Vodashop said they had it on its pricelist but it was Tba. Spoke 2 Autopage and what do you know they didnt have a clue what i was even talking about lol! Metro in Vodaworld said 1 week away. Nokia Vodaworld said something about July and retailing for R4500ish??? Hmmm any1 else think Autopage is a lil clueless??? Anyways just my 2 cents worth, Thnx vodacom3g 4 the update.
 
I called Autopage this morning as well. Lady was a bit clueless, but she did say that they only get their specials from Vodacom on the 7th on each month. So if its due for release on the 1st of June, then Autopage will only know about it by the 7th, or anytime thereafter.

I'm hoping and praying that I'm gonna get lucky and they get stock in June.

I'm also with Autopage and I have also seen the past month or so that there is beter Service Providers out there. But I must say that at Autopage shop in Menlyn there is a girl that is very friendly and help full. But that is the only time or place that I got good friendly Service from Autopage.

The thing with Autopage is that the prices they have for May will expire on the 7th of June but we will only get the new prices by the 10th of June if we are luck, otherwise we will have to wait until the 13th of June for the prices when all the Nokia 6680 stock as been sold. :(

Were if you were with Natshua Mobile you will have the new prices by the 2nd of June and would get a Nokia 6680 before the stock as run out.

I am also new to register to myadsl, but have been following the progress on originally the Nokia 6630 which was a "no show" and more recently the 6680 which looks a great phone (it had better be after waiting to re-new my contract for 6 months). I must say the level of knowledge of anybody in any of the cell providers shops is absolutely shocking, you would think i was asking them about the molecular make up of elephant s*!*e, they just do not have a clue about what is going on in there industry and frankly are totally un-interested. I have just got off the phone with my service provider (Autopage) and yet again they have not shocked me, they do not know anything about the 6680 and the gentleman i spoke to had never even heard of it. AAAAGGGGGgggHHHHHHHHHHH !!

I'm not so sure - I'm with NM and they are pretty horrible from time to time. Your best bet pretty much all over, IMHO, is Vodaworld - best specials!

For example, NM charges for SMS-reports, while CellC (my network) doesn't... And its not published anywhere!! :(

I know somebody who has a Vodacom contract with NM, and they do not pay for SMS-reports.

Remember that NM is only a Service Provider and they sell Vodacom, MTN and Cell-C contracts. NM doesn't charge for the SMS-reports because they are only the middel man between you and the cellphone network provider.

But I think that MTN does charge for SMS-reports, with Vodacom and Cell-C SMS-reports are free and always have been...

Apparently these facts are not constants. Must depend on the contract. My girlfriend is on Cell C and she turned off delivery reports a few months ago when she found out she was paying for them.
 
6680 Advertisment

Hi Guys
Now i am really getting excited, i just saw the 6680 advertised on SABC3 this evening, this must mean that it is really on it's way, (i sat watching with a big smile on my face) other family members think i am a sad soul.
:D

BTW i went to the Vodaworld party on saturday thinking they would maybe release the phone early because it was there birthday but alas i think they were trying to dump as many old models as possible.

Hey guyz... Yeah saw the advert, glad im not the only one that when they want sumthang they want it now syndrome hehe Anyways just to fill u in... Gave Nokia Midrand a call they say: Yes the Nokia 6680 has been launched but they are waiting for stock could take a week or 2! So we wait...

I just spoke to somebody at vodashop at vodaworld.
They reckon the handset is arriving at their warehouse on 11 June, so it should be available mid june., delay delay delay. FFS
 
Is there anybody that got the 6680 on a contract by this time or has any info as to when we will be able to get it on contract?
 
Being lied to is not good

Well I'm with MTN, and two weeks ago I went of to my Service providers shop, and spent about an hour trying to explain to them what is going on (I was due for an upgrade the next day)

I finally convinced them to phone their head office, which they do, and surprise surprise They tell me there are 32 in stock that just arrived, and have put my order in and I can come and collect on Friday the 27th. Of course I am as happy as can be. Friday comes and I rush through to go get my phone. Well Nobody there can remember me and dont have a clue about what I'm talking about. The manager is not there but they promise me he will phone me. Somebody else phones me and explains to me that MTN is busy doing their stock take, but they will collect the phone that night and deliver it to me on Saterday. WOW...

BWHAHAHA yes it never happens. Monday I again go in, and suddenly the phone has been held back due to problems on the network. But I again get promised a call from the manager or somebody else when the phone is available.... Never Happens.

So today I decided to phone MTN head office and well they have no clue as where I heard what I did (thank goodness I have taken down names) and say they dont have or never had stock of the 6680. They suggest I report this to the Manager of the store, or to the regional manager.. and yes... you guessed right. I cant get hold of any of them. But have been promised they will phone me back.

SSSOOOOOOOO.... Can anyone suggest a decent package on Vodacom, and when they expect the phone to be released.

Delays I can handle.. being lied to I will not :mad:
