Nokia 7 plus

For some reason it seams to be linked to the sim. Had the same issues with Huawei when I still used their phones. I'm in England and have a Tesco sim and I was stuck on the June patch. Popped in my old Vodacom sim from SA and Bob's your uncle both the July and August updates come through.
 
If you have a chat via the nokia care app, thr people assisting you, will tell that the OS update os linked to the network (struggling with MTN myself), but seeing that my 7 plus's earpiece decided to stop working after a month and a half, i will be 3 weeks without it for warranty repairs, but the android 9 dev updates was great on it. Just make sure, even if it is a android one phone, does not necessarily mean it will be updated to android pie soon, seeing that updates are rolled out via geolocation.

P.S those looking for the dual sim variant, if you read through the whole threas thus far, you would have seen i mentioned Telkom stocks the dual sim 7 plus.
 
August update feels nice n slick (mtn phone mtn sim)
 
Seems like this thread lost some posts from before the upgrade. :unsure: Anyway I got my phone and I am very happy with it. What cases/covers are you guys using?

Its good that the phone will be updated so early, i quote from a article on gsmarena "Of course, the CEO clarified that regional distribution might affect timeframes, but most will get it sometime in September." So hope for the best
 
I ended up going back to the Hi shop and got the Body Glove cover for my phone. Also had that special cut film applied to my screen. All in all this should protect my phone and it looks sweet. Now just the wait for Android Pie and I will be a very happy Nokia owner.

if you don't mind me asking what did both cost you
 
Ooops. I've cracked the screen. It's quite minor though thinking of just ignoring it. Device is insured tho. Anyone know who will do repair & how long it takes?
