Nokia 7 plus

Just some feedback.

Vodacom Tech division in Durban sucks! And so does their service.

Phone has been sent to Johannesburg for a second opinion because they couldn't find anything wrong after extensive testing. But the bastids only sent it this morning after I started querying wtf was my phone.

They couldn't answer why the Manager at Customer Care agreed the phone was still faulty after their first pathetic repair effort either.

what a load of ****.
its been like what now a month?

Yep. First handed in on the 6th June.

Oh we got an sms saying it was on it's way back to the Collection Centre on the 21st June. The Manager couldn't explain that one either considering it was still sitting on his useless techy's desk at the time.

Say does VC have a rep on here?

I tell you it sucks that you can't get a dual sim version of the phone in South Africa via the legit channels especially when I am trying to buy it outright. How could I get a dual-sim version here? Ideas? Have someone going to Hong Kong in the next three weeks - wondering if they could source it for me.

Telkom and cell c maybe have the dual sim version - but not sure

Cell C also only does single sim only. No set pricing , they have to give you a quote.

Went to two mTN stores yesterday, first one didn’t have stock, told me it would be there on Monday. Advised me to go to Sandton , where after a frikking half an hour wait bcos of their stupid queuing system, they then tell me there is no stock and that the phones were pulled back by CR (Ramaphosa ?) due to an issue. They don’t know when they will be back.

Anyone heard about issue on the Nokia 7 plus??

Lol pulled by Ramaphosa that's a new one

personally i haven't even seen any on display anywhere.

my LG G4 is still going strong after 2 years else i would have gotten the 7 plus quick fast.

I think i'll wait till the end of the year and wait for prices to drop a bit ;)

Then maybe drop the G4

Still on 1 May 2018 update.. Nothing new. Anyone else get June?

Super cool feature: go into settings and search for "navigation"

Gives you an option to use the fingerprint sensor instead of the on screen nav buttons.. tap to go back.. swipe left or right for recent apps etc

ShaunSA any updates on your repair / replacement?

Yeah soz meant to update this.

Picked up the device on Saturday and tested it in the shop all worked fine and during the day.

Got home that evening and wifi kicked in and the phone auto updated to Android 8.1 and started doing the same schit. Needless to say I was not impressed.

Eventually left it alone. Then there was a security update. Not sure if that did anything but it seems to be working fine now.

At least I have a direct contact with the Tech repair manager. If it gives me grief again I am going straight to him.

It's the SO's phone so he can decide.

I'm still trying to figure out what to go for on my work upgrade. This experience with the 7 plus is still a tad fresh.

For the past months I am keeping a close eye on this Nokia 7 Plus device. I search a lot of forums on this device. Does anyone of you experience that touch issue and auto brightness problems?

I have look at https://www.hi-online.co.za/pdp/nokia-7-plus/_/A-270085AAEG6 Does anyone of you have experience buying with them? and after service? I believe that the device that selling is not a branded Vodacom device?

Bought my Nokia 5 from them because Vodacom didn't have stock.

Owned by TFG, very small store so you will be attended to immediately.

My phone is from the MTN stock but I use a Vodacom sim in it and works perfectly.

Regarding the Nokia 7 Plus, It seems that that's their own stock as they would have a Vodacom or MTN logo below the phone.
