It has to be a 2017 phone. Wasnr it's replacement the 7.1or 8.1?

Not really it's still a good phone.
The Nokia 8.1 is the one that's considered it's replacement.

Nokia is a bit all over the place with its numbers:p
My problem is that it moves from 280 EUR to 400, would rather say 8.1 is the 8 replacement, though it comes at the mid-point in terms of price. They just shifted the entire line-up up by 100 EUR, moving the 8 to 9, etc.
Nokia is having a product identity crisis, lol.

you would think but, the Nokia 8 Sirocco is the successor to the 8 , and then the 9 PureView is the successor to the 8 Sirocco
like i said all over the place

Got the vrou's one from Cellucity will check it later. Alpha cell called me yesterday to say they've reduced the price of screen replacement from 2700 to 2400 I think it was

Another patch available today, 18h15 according to the push notification, on Telkom.

Install and full restart took about a minute.

Google officially announced this patch on the 6th of May, Nokia started releasing it on the 28th, and got it here on the 30th. This is way better than LG's track record. Pretty happy with this phone.

Out of interest anyone know where to get a screen fixed for this?

Hi everyone.

It's my dads birthday soon, and I'm considering getting a Nokia 7 Plus, as I have one, and I'm super happy with it.

I see they are available for R2999 from hi-online.co.za, which is half of what I paid for mine :'(

My concern is the yellow screen issue - does anyone know if we can open them in store and refuse them if it has the problematic screen? My dads eyes are bad, so he probably wouldn't care. But it bothers me to no end, so I don't want to buy a lemon.

I was contemplating the 7.1, but they seem way overpriced right now. The alternative is a Samsung A30, which seems to be a great phone, but not Android One :/

Someone asked the same thing as me in another thread, but for the life of me I can't find it to see what his end result was.

I saw them on promo at Hi online , have yet to see them actually be in stock online at that price though at Hi Online and Iv been checking them every second day or so ...........

I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. I sold my previous Nokia 7 plus which I also bought from Hi Online. (It was not a "lemon") At our local Foschini store they had one in stock also at R2999. It was a demo that was displayed. Still covered in it's plastic but never turned on. I asked the sales person if I could turned it on and have a look to see if it was a "lemon" but she refused.

Wow R2999 is a steal. I have mine since Jan, and I love it. I searched the earth for specials at the time and got it for R5k, when they were selling for R7k.
I am considering buying this one for my son.
But if you get a lemon, it must count as a out-of-box failure, so you should get your money back, or what?
(I see they are out of stock at Hi Online)
